Input Not Support

I've tried playing SimCity this morning, the first time in a while, but am getting a blue text message floating around the screen with the usual sound playing away. The message reads "Input Not Support" (rather than the grey floaty input not supported grey box I've seen people report elsewhere). I've tried the fix to the input not supported issue, which I found when I googled the message I'm getting, but no luck. Relevant info requested below.

I'm sorry, but most of the above information doesn't really help anyone to understand your problem. Posting dumps of diagnostic tools is not really helpful.

Perhaps you could explain what is happening that shouldn't and at what point this occurs. Was it was working previously?

From what you've said above, you may be in the wrong directory.  With a 64-bit decor the game directory should be C:\Program Files (x64)\Maxis\...

There are only two acceptable input devices AFAIK: keyboard and mouse (touch pad on a laptop)  When you get this message what input were you trying to do?  Did your game crash?

dxdiag outputs are useless in diagnosing this kind of problem, but if your game crashed there are a couple of files that could tell us some information:

1. C:\<user>\Documents\SimCity 4\Exception Reports\<most recent file>.txt  Open this file with Notepad and copy the first 20 lines (only) into your post.
2. C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Apps\<system name>-config-log.txt.  From this file, copy the first two sections (Flags and Strings) into your post.

This data should tell us if anything is off.  If you don't have a recent exception report, you will have the config-log, so if necessary only report that.
