Is there any way to get rid of an irregularly shaped landfill?

Unfortunately one of my earliest cities that I made has a weird-shaped landfill that's not a rectangle. I know this is some kind of bug in the game and the garbage doesn't disappear even with the Plasma Gasification Plant. Is there any possible way to get rid of it?

Make sure no roads go to it.  After that, it should be a matter of time.

There is also a Landfill Eraser mod on the LEX to deal with certain situations of "bugged" landfills.

Thanks guys, I forgot to mention I already tried the Landfill Eraser mod and it didn't work. I think it's a lost cause unfortunately. When I tried it, only some of the trash disappeared, not all of it, despite cutting off road access (I tried it several times). But it's definitely "bugged" and there doesn't seem to be a way out of it.

Blast it with a meteor?  I don't have many other ideas...

I'll think about it lol. I mean, I don't refuse to have a landfill, it's just that back then I didn't know that landfills reduced HT desirability, and I put it in the middle of my industrial area and it totally prevents any HT from developing there.

But it might not be such a big deal--I was just wondering.

    Hi,

If you have the mod installed, cut off all road access and at the end of the month "some" of the trash tiles disappear, this means that the mod works. All trash in the landfill is actually gone (and this is what the mod does). But there are still those (buggy) tiles left that won't allow you to dezone the landfill. However, some of the tiles are now empty, and can be dezoned. Often dezoning one of these causes the remaining trash tiles to disappear immediately, and then the entire landfill can be dezoned of course. But which one? Try dezoninng one tile, then the next one etc. If this didn't work (all empty landfill tiles have been dezoned, but trash-occupied tiles are still there), exit to region without saving, and repeat the procedure, now dezoning tiles in a different order - it may work this time (try again if it doesn't). It has worked for me (for the buggy landfill formation you can see in the mod's pic), and that's why I decided to upload the mod. The problem is that the garbage tile formation is buggy, and its behavior is therefore unpredictable; it may, or may not work, and it seems to greatly depend on which tile is dezoned first.

    Try it once more please.

For some reason, and this may be it, I stopped using landfills many years ago.  One suggestion is that if you have a slope mod active, try removing it temporarily while you work on the landfill problem.
