Train Wrecks

I have the rush hour expansion pack and the website said there is train disaters

but in the game there is no train wrecks option anyone have this problem?

The only way you could have train wrecks is doing a U-drive it mission at top speed and go around a sharp corner. It's the same as wrecking a boat or car in U-Drive it.

 

but don't expect to see anything like this

If you get to a curve the same time as another train you will get a crash, but the game doesn't do it on it's own.

Always wondered about that myself - why don't I get train wrecks like the one pictured above? Is that from the EA site or something? Was it supposed to be in the game and ended up not making the final cut?

That original screen twas an image that maxis had originally, either they added some affects to make it look like the game... Basically... it wasn't... You can still have recks, just don't expect them to be so beautiful.

if u have the toxic waste dump and ur train crashes there is a likley hood a toxic spill will occur hence the fireman with the foam spray. and its at an intersection, so if u can time it right u can get them to look like this. ive seen it.

that picture was just a teaser for the rush hour pack that EA put out, I don't think it was ever intended to become reality. In the larger screenshot of this there is a el-rail bridge that doesnot exist in the game and also what apears to be a NAM like avenue. And those things never happened either, so the whole picture was just for looks.

the closest thing i have ever had to a proper train wreck was when i hit a frieght train and it had toxic waste on it which caused a spill on the track that had to be put out by fire man. but it was still fin to watch!!!

Reduce the funding for the train tracks to get more wrecks.

Reducing the funding won't work since you only get the

wrecks in u-drive it as Mentioned above,however i think

reducing the funding on trains sometimes makes them

disappear before reaching there destination,and also on

the train wrecks you can also cause a wreck by raming

a bus or other vehicle into the trains in u drive it, but yes

it would have been more realistic for normal train wrecks

to happen Like in sc2000 but at least they brought back

the train wrecks from 2000.

You CAN get train wrecks like the picture but you have to use a U-drive car or truck. Drive around till you get to a VERY busy rail line and park on the tracks and wait for a train to run into you or better yet wait a little distance away from the tracks and when a train comes you drive your car into the train. It can be quite the mess.

 

ok, I just went into the game got myself into a garbage truck and drove to a crossing. I waited for a train. A passenger train showed up and I let it go by and then a freight train came and I went for it. While I was speeding toward the train another passenger train showed up from the other direction. I hit the freight train and CRASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I derailed both trains and made a big fire ball! Game exited from U-Drive and that was it. Before I could take a picture the wreck was gone. But it did look just like the picture from EA without the fire trucks and add a passenger train. There was bits of train EVERYWHERE!

or just park a city bus on the traintracks and wait.

if you have a connection train skin (night lighted) and drive it around at night, you can sometimes derail the train but still have the lights in the windows float in midair.

I park a bus on the tracks but it TAKES SO LONG for the train to come.

I think that sometimes the companies show things that we never see for real. Like in the movies, you in the trailer see something good, exciting, and then in the movie is a no-no. EDIT: that's true, this thread is soo outdated. sorry.
