RHW/RHW Diamond

Is a RHW diamond interchange even possible without using road pieces?  I have no trouble building a road over any RHW but if I want to build highway over highway, I must convert one of them to a road to make the MIS connection.

Using RHW pieces only I cannot create an intersection.  I have dragged and clicked till I'm blue in the face and obtained some interesting, but not very useful configurations.  To me it looks like a puzzle piece is needed probably called "RHW/EMIS Intersection".  I can find one for "Road/EMIS" but not one for highways.

Here are the two best results:

The only other RHW network that the RHW-4 can intersect at-grade is the RHW-2, and that's only at ground level.  MIS x RHW-4 at any height level isn't supported and there are no plans to add it, mainly as we didn't intend for interchanges like this to be possible.

Convert the RHW-4 to avenue for the overpass. You can easily drag out avenue viaducts by clicking on the Draggable ERD button in the Roads menu. These should be able to connect with the MIS to form an intersection.

Tarkus, I agree that this is a poor highway intersection and shouldn't be used in RL (though they do exist in special instances) so adding it to the NAM is a poor idea too.  Compdude, using road menu pieces is what I have been doing.  Are commute times affected by whether or not the route is a road or a highway?  I have noticed commuters seem to prefer a 2 lane highway to a 4 lane avenue even if the route is a little longer.

Can't answer that question precisely, tbh, but a partially grade-separated interchange is a partially grade-separated interchange. Any crossing comes with a hit to travel times in real life.
