Whoever wins this series needs to win the next.  That's my only "requirement".  It's not that I don't like the Mets, it's that I don't...recognize their existence as a MLB team.

The only Curse of the Bambino as it applied to the Yankees was having to listen to the Red Sux and their fans using it as an excuse for every time their inept team lost to the Yankees.  Completely failing to recognize that there were probably 20+ other teams over 80 pathetic years sometimes even more responsible for their woes - for instance I would say the Mets and Mookie Wilson caused far more damage than Bucky ****ing Dent (and that wasn't even the deciding game)!

It's actually rather nice not really having to hear about it any more - even as a fan of one of the prime beneficiaries.  I still laugh at the irony of them having a logo which basically represents a big "L" on their foreheads.

You don't understand the curse.  The curse is on the Red Sox for trading the Babe to the Yankees in a year when they could have won the WS.  I am sure this is well before your time.  You should access a copy of the Broadway play "Damn Yankees" for a dramatization of the curse.

I feel my credentials as a former* Buffalo Bills fan qualify me to say that a Cubs fan isn't much going to care about being rough on somebody else.

* Former in that they would still be my team (nothing of their doing, which is saying something), but the NFL has long since lost my attention.  It left me or I left it, or maybe a combination of the two.

On the other hand, go see a performance of Rigoletto.  ("Questo vecchio maladito mi!").  Traditionally, curses make a good opera plot.

I don't know, man, there's some pretty serious evidence to support a curse hanging over the Cubs.  I mean, remember when they looked like they were going all the way back in the 90s?  And then that Cubs fan grabs the home run ball right out of the mitt of one of the Cubs outfielders?  That seems too ridiculous, too contrived to be anything but a curse.

 

Also, sigh, the Royals, yuck.  AT LEAST IT WASN'T THE TWINS.  I HATE the Twins.

Well, no, not Kirby Puckett, I like him.  There are exceptions to just about everything, after all.

 

EDIT: also, it's difficult to dislike individual members of a team because, you know, they all have families and try their hardest to do their best (usually hahahahah), but the symbol on their uniforms is easy to dislike.
