I got Cities Skylines a bit late as I was on holiday. I downloaded it and it worked fine. Without any mods. I then found out  the brilliant mods on steam and began downloading them. I then opened my C:S game and it took 45 MINUTES to load a saved game. For the past few days it has been  taking forever loading. My computer is a very good computer and has very good specs inside it. I would really like some help with this as I would really like to play this game for it is a really good game. Now it is not loading at all. It keeps freezing at the same position.

As daft as it sounds subscribe the above MOD.

Go into your save, hit Ctrl + M

List by Triangles - Remove excessive assets from your subscription (anything over 5000 is generally excessive unless a one off building, source http://www.skylineswiki.com/Asset_Editor). Vehicles work differently so less is better, remember you could have hundreds of these spawned at anytime all of which increase load time/lag.

Then list by LOD triangles - Remove bloaty assets, Anything above 200 is regarded as CO as excessive, but ALOT of us asset makers (including myself)  are slowly trying to bring our lod counts down now it's realised what impact it has ongame loadtime etc.

Textures for LOD should also never be above 128x128 - again something us asset makers are working and I'd encourage you to advise any you see that are massively excessive via the workshop

An easy method is to open Steam, hover over your name at the top menu and select "content" from the drop-down list. On the content page, click on the "Workshop Items" tab and then scroll down and click on "Subscribed Items" on the right-hand side of the page. Then, at the top of the page, under your name, click on Cities: Skylines next to the "Filter by game" text. This will show you all the mods, assets, maps and color correctors you have downloaded. As BaskB said, the long loading time is probably primarily due to your assets.

the only problem with checking how many u have thru steam is,some assets i got thru a torrent and so some of the ones i have i dont have a subscription. This was before I became a paid member to use steam workshop.Im slowly finding ones that are not subscribed yet.For me I just go to the appdata/addons folder and right click on it and check the properties and see how many files are there.Atm i have 1200 files so i know im getting close.Once i add a few more and run the game  until it crashes Ill know how far I can get>im not sure if this something that happens to everyone with the same amount of files or if it varies between each person,or if its a combination of how many files and  sizes.Because I know at one point I had 5 gigs of assets before it crashed.I have over 9 gigs  total but no way can I get them all in at once.Atm i have 3.75 gigs and its not crashing
