the only problem with checking how many u have thru steam is,some assets i got thru a torrent and so some of the ones i have i dont have a subscription. This was before I became a paid member to use steam workshop.Im slowly finding ones that are not subscribed yet.For me I just go to the appdata/addons folder and right click on it and check the properties and see how many files are there.Atm i have 1200 files so i know im getting close.Once i add a few more and run the game until it crashes Ill know how far I can get>im not sure if this something that happens to everyone with the same amount of files or if it varies between each person,or if its a combination of how many files and sizes.Because I know at one point I had 5 gigs of assets before it crashed.I have over 9 gigs total but no way can I get them all in at once.Atm i have 3.75 gigs and its not crashing

how many mods and assets do u have?/im finding that anything a little over 1000 mods tends to crash the game

crashes with only assets loaded

ok i think i have found the problems.Ive noticed alot of people in different forums having a crashing issue, and i think i found out the problem at least seems to be for me.What i did was i loaded assets only.Put in a few ran the game until i got a crash. When I get more than 5.29 gigs in my assets i cannot add any more .No matter the size of asset if it goes over the 5.29 the game crashes during load time.I reported this to paradox and someone sent a link which basically says the same thing that i found. https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/downloaded-a-certain-amount-of-assets-crash-on-exit-started-so-is-there-a-limit-on-assets.857513/ -
Ive been having a problem for a few days now and ive posted on steam and paradox site as well and figured id try here as well since im not getting answers at either place so hopefully some one here knows what to do.Ive loaded the game with mods only with no assets and everything works fine.If I load with assets only it crashes after it hangs a couple mins at the load screen.I have taken half the assets out and left half and run the game with no problems. Then Ill take those out and put in the other half in and run the game and again no problems, but as soon as I put ALL assets in then that's when I run into it crashing.I did have a few broken assets which ive removed and unsubscribed to.Hopefully someone has an idea what the problem is,im totally lost at what to do now

when i play the game i get debugger saying that i have custom asset duplicate prefab name.I looked and found the duplicates but they are different items. for instance i have 2 baseball fields{not stadium)but they are both different. Also the following items have the same file name but are different items, 2x2 house with garden and pool, 3x6 flower path, large elementary school, and mall of extreme moderation. They each run on a newasset.crp.Is there a way to fix this so that i dont lose 5 of these items in game,id like to be able to keep all items if i can and also in case as im downloading for mods and i run into this situation again.I tried renaming the .crp's but that didnt work

Quit to main menu and desktop does not work (I'd assume it's mods)
DonSPa replied to FuxxWhaterver's topic in Cities: Skylines Technical Help Q&A
i had the same problem, once i started playing the game i couldnt quit or go to the main menu and would have to alt/ctrl/delete to end the game. Read on another site that some of the mods for color etc maybe the culprit.I removed the following files from my mods folder and game played normal after,im in the process to trying to see which may have been causing my problem... dynamic resolution day night clear and bright road color changer -

How to Install Cities: Skylines Mods

Someone please correct me if I am incorrect (as I am at work and do not have the game open in front of me), but the file type for your downloaded files should be in a .crp format. This is the file type that the asset editor spits out. These should go into the mods folder. Anything else (.txt for readme, for example) are not needed. I believe the assets folder is for props. Again, someone please correct me if I am wrong. thats what is confusing me they are .crp files but the readmes say to make a assets folder and place the files in there for example heres the instructions for phoenix tower: Installation (Windows) : The .crp file inside the archive must be placed in c/:users/[yourname]/AppData/Local/Colossal Order/Cities_Skylines/Addons/Assets If there is no "Asset" subfolder you can create it yourself. (happens if you haven never created any new asset). If you can't see these directories, change your windows explorer options to "show hidden files and folders" -
How to Install Cities: Skylines Mods

i was downloading buildings and some have readmes to put the mod into an assets folder and some do not have instructions at all ,so do all the buildings go into an assets folder?if this is the case how can we tell what files would go into just the main mod folder and what ones will go into an assets?
