I did a few buildings at the beginning of the year and then did nothing until recently, so now I am having to start over from scratch to learn this program. I went through the Lot Editor and listed all of the lots and organized them by lot size. I decided to start with the 1x1 lots and work my way up, hopefully learning as I go. So far, I have completed 9 lots. They work as plops but I havent tested them for growth yet. Anyway, I have done 2 sets for each lot: modern and sci fi. Feel free to critique.9.gif

Definitely like the style of that modern law office, and the other moderns are realistic and fairly well-BATted as well. It looks good.44.gif

Although I'm not a SF fan, those look incredibly detailed.10.gif

I like your work and the green glow on the night shot of Gleason's Thrift is pretty cool.

You have some beautiful BATs there! I especially like Flatt Law Office CS and Flatt Law Office SFG and leason's Thrift SF. They look beautiful! And they are all very detailed and stunning! I look forward to seeing more of brilliant BATS like these ones, and to download them!

They are simple, but so effective!

Great job on the glass treatment of the Tucker building (modern). However, I must ask if those are just test lots, or if those are the lots you actually plan on releasing the buildings with?

the lots are kind of boring huh? i dont even know if im going to release them yet, i still have to test them as growables. any suggestions on spicing up the lots would be appreciated. im trying not to use any dependencies from other batters because im still new to this and dont want to get confused as to whose props and textures im using.

thanks for your reply, i was beginning to think i was my only fan.9.gif

    OMG, these are superb! 25.gif
I don't have a place for them in my region because my playing style and taste is just different, but this is quality work! Congratulations.

Are you planning to make any normal buildings, or would they just bore you to death? 18.gif

T Wrecks: Thank you for the compliment, I know 90%+ of the Simtropolis community focuses on realism so I wasnt sure how well these would go over. I love science fiction, so I thought I would try my hand at it. My plan is to do a complete tileset so that I can build a future city eventually. Maybe sometime down the line I will switch to modern buildings but for now Ill leave that up to the rest of the community.9.gif

CDI_spy: Im glad you like them, there will be more to come soon, I hope.

Odd: Thank you for the comments, I visited your thread and was in awe, thanks again.

Maetoch, these are incredibly detailed little offerings and really superbly crafted - the lighting and the form are spot on.

So what if 90% want realism? That still leaves 10% who don't, and actually, you see these sorts of things at the edge of cities along motorways where the land is cheaper and the owner of the business wants to make a statement with garish colours or impossibly fluid shapes in order to advertise their business to the passer-by in the RW. Also, the little coffee kiosk (as is) would fit into the down town of any city that I could think of, and the size of the building makes it great for next to a bus stop, subway station and the other tiles that are annexed by transport on a larger lot...

So, I wouldn't let 'realism' or the fact that skyscrapers are the most downloaded things stop you finishing them: all of the other small details make SC fun. Good work!

Cool, unrealitic, well detailed bats. These bats are really nicely detailed and textured. A sure D/L for me.
