Lovely views there Plokoon. Loving the winding highway as well though I agree some of the roads are a bit steep (I'll just blame it on too much RCT3 playing lol).

Cheers

^ Thanks that means a lot! Hey I call it as I see it, if its a good game then it deserves to be shown in a good light right?

^ Its tough at times, but it makes the city interesting in my eyes. A few headaches here and there but challenges are fun!

    --------------------------------------------------

    FLOOD!

It turns out after a major 4-10" of rain in the county, along with what happened upstate, Boulder River crested to historical levels! 22 feet above normal flood stage to be exact! Luckily the local weather station has warned many people of areas vulnerable to flooding, such as Belton and bits of Metromills along Boulder River to evacuate immediately, through some were brave to stay and they had to be rescued by helicopter and boats. Many fire stations were borrowed to help with the rescue efforts. Some photos found on facebook and other means of social media.

Carl R. "Looks like a bit of flooding. OMG."

    U4fSXvy.jpg

^ Helicopter Arial. Water began to overflow the bridges, and they were shutdown.

    yh0GY0E.jpg

^ A few cars on the bridge left to be overtaken by the fury of Boulder River.

    Px7MfHT.jpg

^ Belton downtown began to experience the worst. Causing a lot of chaos.

    lgTGJq5.jpg

^ Picture from Sarah P. on twitter "This is just insane, I never seen it flood like this. #flood #Belton #disaster"

    5q0A04G.jpg

^ helicopter footage freeze frame of absolute destruction.

And below you can witness what happened to the only bridge in and out to Boulder Island, as it couldn't hold any longer.

^ There she goes, floating down stream. A few concerns that it would effect other bridges down stream, but luckily it sank.

^ Finally signs of receding finally happening after 6 hours of flash flooding.

Belton and surrounding communities now have a lot of there hands as they clean up and survey damage.

Well that is definitely not going to help with the growth of the city lol. Pretty epic flooding right there.

    Cheers

^ Actually no I did it on purpose! However I did make it accidentally flood today when I was working on the city, which was strange but interesting. It was strange because it was like a real life flash flood, for some reason the water would rise some how, then it went down, then up again. It did 6 times before it finally calmed now. But you guys will see that when I post the next update, and some interesting ideas as well.

^ No it won't effect it too much, but yeah a pretty massive flood.

Update time! Found some free time!

^ Districts of Metromills and Belton have taken state loans to control a flood protection plan. It included putting in man made wing dams that trap the water, however due to popular water sports such as river rafting, a wing dam was the best option, as rafters could still go through. It is about 8 feet tall, but its benefits are larger than that. It took 3 years to finish the dam.

^ Looking upstream at our newest destination.

^ New Rapids is a river town in the mountains, small but quiet. A lot of rich folks live up here.

    lKTsj2g.jpg

^ Its source of power is the wind mills on the hills (I rhymed!) New Rapids has many historical homes and a very visible bell tower.

^ Looking upstream at a bridge crossing.

    rLbU7lh.jpg

^ And another actual dam, with an old canal path for boats to go to bypass the dam. Now rafters can go through it carefully tho, its dangerous!

    More next week!

    ^ Thanks!

I also want to thank Benedict for adding this city to his top list! Such an honor, and many other great projects as well!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Some updates, and some new areas to check out!

    a4GkYTE.jpg

^ An overview of Boulder County, my has it grown!

    JXc0UmS.jpg

^ Northeast Corridor as it is the main in and out towards the Blue Mountains, where many like to vacation over the winter and summer. (FUN FACT: Did you know that many names of the areas in this region (besides the river, and creek) are all based off of names in the area I live in! Like the highway names, townships ect. Someone gets a prize if they can figure it out, or at least get the state right.)

    S0AITPP.jpg

    YMZtR15.jpg

^ Looking up towards the mountains, a few radio towers can be seen, many of the area's biggest radio statons have antennas up there.

    HLcZ9W5.jpg

The small town of Winding Rocks, very peaceful and quiet. Well that was before the highway went through it haha.

    4O1qlkA.jpg

^ As the highway crests up Winding Rocks you can see Boulder River, and in the distance the town New Rapids.

Thats it for today, I also have been working on another city project as well as this one!

That last picture is amazing! Better yet your city has become so large that the mountains border certain areas so it feels like a different area entirely!

    Dear sir/madam/whoever will read this!

    This profile is now defunct.

Computer problems and issues with accessing my Imageshack account meant My SC4 CJ Scrapbook was lost and utterly irretrievable. This setback put me off SC4 for many months.

Apologies for the inconvenience and for the lost pictures.

But that SC4 itch did not go away and it had to be scratched! I have started afresh with a new account here- The British Sausage

The URS is a spiritual successor to the SC4 CJ Scrapbook.

With this update this will be the last time I visit my original Simtropolis account- admin/mods feel free to remove it or do whatever you need to do. I have no further use for the Ln X (BLANKBLANK) account.

With regards, Miles Saunders-Priem aka. Ln X aka. The British Sausage
