It's been a while since I replied to a city journal but I'll say this one looks nice.

looks quite spectacular, JO. i like the very good story line you have going on here, and the walk through history.
it is amazing what one can do with little easter eggs hidden in the game, is it not? gotta love that Christmas snow.
i wasn't aware Pegasus had opened his site...i'll have to take a look. looks like he has some interesting stuff.
having the soundtrack is a very novel idea - i know masher had music listed in his Koda journal, but you have taken it even one more step further...i haven't listened to it, because i know my system would freak out, but a very good idea.
keep up the great work, J.O., and i look forward to more.

    Update:
    [X]
Sorry but Real life has been a bit anoyning, but here is the update:

Much has changed since we left, so let's take a look in all the townships:

    Askatasuna:
    Askatasuna-10Nov041096898204.jpg
Askatasuna surely changed a bit since we last saw it... There are more banana farms and honey farms (yum)
Let's take a closer look in the banana farms:
    Askatasuna-10Nov041096898170.jpg
This is the largest banana farm in askatasuna, it produces tons of those tasy fruits for the demanding market of the other townships. Banana honey is also belived to have healing propeties, so it is sold for small fortunes.
    Askatasuna-10Nov041096898181.jpg
This is the old dock village, nothing has changed here, except that it became a bridge between the Banana Island and the main contnent (of course that there are no banana boats so far)
    Askatasuna-10Nov041096898221.jpg
These are the docks, here the greatest ships of the Askatasuna navy stay docked. The Pride of Askatasuna is a trader vessel, while Rewolfyam is a exploration vessel. Prototype no.5 is the first war vessel, it has some new weaponry developned in Askatasuna.
    Askatasuna-10Nov041096898244.jpg
These are the honey farms. Honey is a luxiry in these times, it is sweet and combined with bananas makes a great dessert. This farm is Askatasuna's main economic motor.
    Askatasuna-10Nov041096898333.jpg
Here is a close of the main honey farm. There are many hives and seems like someone got a little sting in their poor skin, here they need to extract honey form the hives with no protective suits, but it is well-worth the stings.

    Cerealia:
    Cerealia-18Set171096895864.jpg
Wow, cerealia grew a LOT in these 50 years! So many farms, this is amazing.
    Cerealia-18Set171096896145.jpg
This is the downtown. Wow, lots of granaries, they are probably having record-harvests to build more two granaries.
    Cerealia-18Set171096895914.jpg
I wonder how much food is being stored there, they have one granary for pre-processed and the rest are granaries for processed food. Of course they have statues of their gods in the last floors of the granaries, so they work both as temples and deposits.
    Cerealia-18Set171096895904.jpg
The town hall is probably the center of the small comunity, here both the commons and the aristocracy meet and debate over the issues of the ever-growing city.
    Cerealia-18Set171096895934.jpg
The windmills... The old one had to be demolished and two new ones occupy the area now, they need to work very much in the fall to process all the grains.
    Cerealia-18Set171096895990.jpg
These are the docks, they are situated in the lower bank, it stays southeast of the main city and it is here that most trading happens.
    Cerealia-18Set171096896011.jpg
The castle that stays in the hills is a symbol of cerealia's prosperity, it is currently the arisotcracy housing, but it can be converted into temporary housing to all the village's population.
    Cerealia-18Set171096896034.jpg
This is the castle's inner palace. While it isn't the most efficient complex, it is efficien in the affairs of impressing other tribe leaders.
    Cerealia-18Set171096896057.jpg
The winery is situated in the nearby valley. It is placed very far from any contact to avoid any contact with other tribes. Wild grapes grow all over the area, but only the Cerealian's know the secrets of it's refinements, so they keep these tricks sealed.
    Cerealia-18Set171096896092.jpg
This close of the farm shows the winery, the owner's mansion and some attempts to fam the wild grapes. Wine is produced and exported in small quantities, so it's market value is enormous.

    Togo:
Togo also changed a lot since we last saw it:
    Togo-17Nov071096897796.jpg
The mining industry caused a boom in it's economy and we can see they did many changes in their town.
    Togo-17Nov071096897821.jpg
This is the industrial complex. Here, there was the born of the metallurgy and togo's blacksmiths know how to make many alloys out of the local minerals.
The quarry industry supplied rocks to the other citie's (so that's how they built their castles)
    Togo-17Nov071096897836.jpg
The cattle indsutry also developned in togo. While it's soil is poor to produce food, a certain kind of grass which cattle loves to eat gorws abundantly here.
    Togo-10Dez071096897897.jpg
The city iteslf is enclosed inside the walls, the temple to their fire god stays in the city's very center. The village is small indeed, and people are starting to live outside the walls.
    Togo-10Dez071096897908.jpg
The temple of the fire god. He is reverencied as the god of fire, erath, metals and lava. So he plays a vital role in the community's life as the god who provided the riches that they mine.
    Togo-16Mar081096898068.jpg
The wood extraction operations moved farther from the city itself due to the overexploration of the local forest, now they are farther, but still produce high-qualty wood
    Togo-17Nov071096897850.jpg
The horse racnches are a new venture. Horses are great animals for farmwork and they are learning how to ride them. Possibly horses would also become a weapon...

    That's it for now.
    Feedback:
Everyone: Thanks by the comments. The trees are avaliable in peg's site ONLY for certain mebers (lucky me) so far, but once SimDev is up and running they will be universally avaliable.

Awesome.. ever better than kasva...I Never seem to remember how you spelled it lol although this one seems to have an easier name to remember3.gif

The story is great and adding non sc-made pics to illustrate is really a smart move, makes the story come alive.

hope this CJ turns out well and i hope that no evil despotic ruler takes over (crosses fingers11.gif2.gif).

Why do I get the strange feeling i know what is going to happen to this civilization.42.gif

I love this story so much, I also like the music that goes with it. Someone should make a mod where its like 1800s that would be pretty cool. But anyway keep going please!

    WOHA!
I stay away by one week to give my brain a rest (even though the updates were coming slowsly anyway) and when I come back I find piles of comments. Since today already is late I will need to leave the so waited update for tommorow but I can, of course give some feedback:
@everyone with no specific comments: Thanks a lot for your comments
@KMH: It's KAS-VA-GO-RIA18.gif and yup, there will be an evil despotic leader11.gif
@Dev: See you in the next meeting of the PCG, and don't forget to buy new robes3.gif
@Raven: It would be sweet if we had an oldtime mod, but that is simply too large for a single person to do, the populations will probably come in the next update

. They just don't need to drstically change the storyline, which will remain unknown until I tell it18.gif
I'm still thinkering around, but you will (one day) be able to apply to rule a township (having your name in the CJ and a city for you to give sugestions)

Also, I'm cooking up something else (a relatively long fiction) which will soon be posted in the forums, perhaps I might use the friday to continue it and do the update in the saturday. But anyway thanks everyone!

Here we go, after a week without update I come back (yay)

    [X]

    Rakata-15Abr031096306233.jpg

Rakata is a new fillage that is flourishing in the encounter of the three major trade routes...
Situated in the corssing of the paths that lead from and to each one of the other three major cities, it is a place of enocunter to the traders, who to save time in travel, set up their exchange estabelishments in the small town. The forthcoming traffic genarated wealth and knowledge due to the mix of cultures...
Let's take a closer look on this little town:

    Rakata-15Abr031096306271.jpg

The small castle of the city, part of the walls were demolished and changed into a building, it looks nicer than the enclosed walls, and the local archtets are planning some new kinds of residences using this style.

    Rakata-15Abr031096306255.jpg

The seaport, it has both the small and large docks to receive any size of ships. A good naval transport is important, since much of the traffic is done trough the river.

    Rakata-15Abr031096306294.jpg

The great exchange (often called the bazzaar) here you can see traders from exotic lands bargaining the most different gooods, from elephant manure to reifned jewlwery, anything can be found here, and even more will be once the millenal far is complete!

    Rakata-15Abr031096306324.jpg

This is the mansion of the elder. He founded the traders guild and so he gianed much wealth. This mansion is the headquarters of the traders guild.

    Rakata-15Abr031096306343.jpg

Any merchandies that exits and enters the town needs to pay an tax, and here is where it is paid.

    Rakata-15Abr031096306361.jpg

Something nice is being cooked up in the area that was once the great commons...

    Rakata-15Abr031096306381.jpg

This is the temple where an emerging religion is growing (name hidden due to keeping forum clean concerns) we can listen as the pearcher tells the tale of the creation...

    Rakata-15Abr031096306400.jpg

Rakata's main wealth is the ammount of knolwege gathered here, this enormous library was built to hold the books and papyri about the many forms of knowledge that accumulated here

That's it for today, comments and suggestions are 35.gifmore-than-welcome35.gif

I checked your thread everyday waiting for an update and its finally here! Good job, i was hoping to see another town. So when is there going to be some change, like towns going to war or someone evil appearing. I know I've asked this twice before but whats the population of your towns. Man I'm so impatient.21.gif

    P.S. Amazing work, you've done a really good job!44.gif44.gif
