OMG, this is like the best CJ i've seen so far...and i've seen some nice ones.  Did the creator of this city create all those nice BATs?  Either way, It looks like a very entertaining place to live.

Definitely one of my favorites here. Again, superb work on Six Flags Freeport, with the expansions; nice to see more freeway exit guides of course; and the development overall looks wonderful. The region view is very impressive.

When Freeport Interplanetary Spaceport was built it was in the middle of nowhere in Lake County. Huge demand for new growth occured after the Spaceport was built and Launchpad City was founded.

    image292dh.jpg

Carmax built here first when there was nothing hoping for growth. Growth didn't come in time so they closed this center. The Interplanetary Spaceport was built afterwards and this abandoned building was turned into an auto rental center.

Exquisite! Really, just... well... just great! Always with the custom buildings. Very office/tech-suburbia. The stack interchange in Poplar Acres looks like something from real life, when a four-way interchange is planned but never finished, so you're left with a fun stub.

    Grat job US.

I love how you have personalized the street signs. Did you do that in the LOT EDITOR??? Or are they your own creation???

Gr8 job US 44.gif. I can tell you took a serious amount of time working on this city. It seems different that evey city has its own independant large-scale downtown. Kind of like L.A. It would be cool if you released some of those rollercoasters to the exchange.

by the way, how do you take pictures of your whole region if the screen can't fit it all on there?

    thanx

    sorchin: thanks!!

abyrd23: thanks. The program is called Region Census. I think you can get it from Simtropolis.

Sorry for slow updates. I've been busy lately and wasn't able to get on SC4 as much as I wanted to.

Here's an updated region view of the Augustine area.

While all this growth was occuring in the city there was some growth out in the suburbs, particularly in Launchbase City.

    dorianvillerd4uq.jpg

The mall that was planned as Lunchbase Center Mall was named Deer Run Mall after the name of the district it's in. Dillars, Macy's and Sears are anchors of this mall.
    lbcretail3oc.jpg

The mall has turned Deer Run from a small exurban community to a busy suburban city as hundreds of new stores were built around the mall.

    Great update again US.

Can you explain a little more how you Personalized your road and city entrance signs?
They look amazing39.gifYou created them yourself in the BAT and then used the LOT EDITOR?46.gif
Sorry I'm a little confused as to your explanation on the page before43.gif
    Thanks my friend44.gif44.gif

Awsome CJ, first time seeing it.... impresive region and nice content added.

was just this week  I was planning my new Island and was thinking to myself, I should be able to expand the land after Ive started.
you showed it is posible, but I was wondering just how big I could make it and what hardware Id need for a size like that.

I never noticed in here....  what kind Of PC are you running, mem, CPU, Video and have you seen much of a performance slow down as you grew larger?  if so, what size did you notice it 1.gif

I am starting a Island that will hold all downloaded material and want to make it sorta real and leave space to expand...  just not sure what size I should try for without ruining any gameplay.

my thoughts are it doesnt matter how big the region.... its city size that bogs down the PC...  but you would definately know more on this subjects since youve built it.

sorchin: Thanks. You create the signs the same way you create buildings. You design it BAT and then when you are finished you export it. When it's finished with the export model you use the SC4 Plugin Manager and drag the export model for the sign and put it under props menu. It will create another file and you use the lot editor, open up the empty green grass lot and add a prop and it should be under the prop menu. Place it on the lot and save the file and when you run the game the sign should be under the park menu.

Mystyx: Thanks. Im using AMD 2600, 1GB RAM. NVidia 5500 128MB. The larger and more developed a region and the more plugins you have the longer the game will take to load and the longer it will take to switch between cities.
There's a point to how large a region can be depending on our computer. Large city sizes run slower when they start getting more developed than medium, at least on my computer. my region is about 1,000 square miles and it's pretty slow compared to the default region size which is about 100 square miles.

New developing cities run faster than older developed ones. Thats why I perfer medium and use only a few large cities.
