  1. STATS and VALUES Pack and reference database

    Awsome Work T Wrecks, This has to be the most sought after Mod for anyone. A must have for some of those great downloads that are just modded off a bit. Havent looked at it yet, but its just what everyone needs. CHEERS Cant believe the work you did on this, perfect timing for me :) thanks!
  2. Do You Want BATs??

    Hmm yea, it didnt work... i did it right. prob took to long and cause I changed the question first off. was just an idea if ppl want to texture buildings / houses, I guess BATs are easy enough to make if just a simple BAT rdy for customizing. I guess a short comment instead of a Poll will have to do this time
  3. I was wondering if there is any demand for BATs created untexured for you all to texture yourselves. I might be able to create something to upload tons of BATs untextured using AutoCAD, but dont want to if noone will use them. houses after creating a roof style, I could take floorplans and make a working BAT for Gmax if you all tell me what you want for details in it. I guess several types of buildings could be easily made... but would require texturing, lighting, lots ect & furniture? windows? need to be cut out? is there any interest for this sort of thing? what do you want in it? It maybe awhile before I can get it going, but it would give an encredible amount of variety to the game.
  4. Moving Menu Icons?

    Thanks, guess I will just change some Item Orders then to keep things orginized. at least I found where to change the name as some didnt have one or the right one. Ive been looking at all the SC4 icons and what order they fall. I take it then all the entries for those specific Building Occupants in the exemplar are linked to this occupant group and cant be removed without loosing its function? is there a way to say Build an exemplar file excluding any icon information? then add an exemplar with the Icon info? I guess if I can, It would mean restructuring the Lots I download. But, how bout for Lots I create myself.... is it posible maybe creating a exemplar for each occupants and any entries linked to that. to have a bunch premade ready to use, and just choose which I want to add for a lot i build, maybe choose say 3 exemplars Ive built and add an Icon Exemplar just changing the codes/numbers within them for specific use and combining them together. Most likely my lots will be fairly simple containing only one occupant group, the info would help knowing whats possible while creating some things like self powered ect these questions come early to see just how I want to setup and orginize myself for easy creating.

    Thanks Andreas, guess thats why theres more then one in the menu... guess Id have to decde which I wanted, but is there something else I should delete then in a dat if I remove the LM and Reward and just say keep the school in the example above? working on some editing and deleting the parts I dont want. its been fun figuring out which entries are for which and what they do

Hi All, I have a quick question about changing the properties in a file, to see if Im on the right track... can I change or delete any numbers within these 2 lines to move a menu icon to a different location or remove extra icons that are incuded with some downloads? https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//SC4%20Changing%20menu%20order%20question%20pic.jpg align=baseline> do those im pointing to in the pic contain any data connections other then menu placements? are there other entries I need to delete if I dont want those? if I can just change these 2 to orginize the menu, fine in a .dat file where theres usually one exemplar but with a lot and a desc thats seperate... I would change the lot to move the icon in the menu, but would the desc need to be changed? I changed both for my test, just want to make sure ive got this right.

    Hi, I was playing with some settings in AdobeCS and found there are alot of settings that all change the outcome of the final region map. I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me a bit of some of the settings to save the BMP (or convert to JPG) that they have found for the best results? I can set my own greyscale Hieghts after, but cant seem to find the best results saving as a JPG file. I dont really want to use a bunch of programs that arent really needed for my own custom map. just need the paint program. Here is a pic of 2 (of many) settings I have tried, https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Test%20Isle%20Rock%20pix.jpg align=baseline> the large pic is greayscale 8bit BMP, (the small pic is greayscale JPG quality 8 baseline standard) noticed the quality and optimized give diff. results. both pics were beach 89, output level 0 to 24 before saving.

Yea thanks Twrecks, I have noticed some features now while I got familar with the reader checking all those train cars Im betting ill go though them again for structure, maybe some cars are missing something that makes overlapping trains. or data for train crashes not right, if someones played with that tackling the coding is fun, went through the BSC texture info they figured out.... anyone know anyplace theres a better list of the structure files associated with creating all the necessary requirements for a lot? basically a meaning of them, whats in them? I do have a couple of Tutorials still to go, but for creating things it looks like alot of info needs piecing together into a process some process has been setup here, lotsa info to know I like to have a list to start out to run through

  12. Rendering Problem: Gaps Between Cities

    WOOT Sticky this under rendering 1600x1200 bug, I have been also having this problem and it started to drive me crazy. I was checking scale levels... so back and forth alot to render. I was just about to reinstall to just try and thought i would search a bit first. I bet its just the video card then.... I have always had minor problems running 1600x1200 in certain situations and have used 1600x1200 for the past 8 years now. I have used both ATI 9600PRO 128mb & now have a ATI all-in-wonder 9800PRO 256mb. check bottom of message about drivers for ATI my last thought would have been the resolution. maybe we should start sending screen shots to ATI I thought id come back and add a couple pics to this.... awsome thread.... Thanks, Twrecks and Andreas Ill learn a bit more about the structure before going through those. definately a chore, about half will be easy thanks to neatness took me about 3 days to figure out the prop packs and megas and sort em. no doubles on those definately helped game speeds. Problem buildings definately have a negative effect on game speeds. (lot can show in game, but if settings or desc arent right I seem to get a choppy effect, take that one out and its all good again. hehe hopefull in the end ill have enough info to sort and/or fix the downloads I like most for sure if the SC4 tool keeps going in the direction it is, great program Im still confused as to why Maxis didnt release a program to do this with instructions on settings ect. their setup seems messed up and is definately hard to navigate at first they are sleeping over there, I see another expansion here and several fixes / adds they could do. maybe not enough sales.   15. Hi, I love your program so far... Its great to see the settings in the Lots I have a Question about the TE Editor, heres a pic... https://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//SC4%20Tool%20TE%20Question%20pic.jpg align=baseline> this a TE Lot to stop trucks, but Im wondering with the Rep 15 values 04 is for ave tile beside and 00 is no transit... shouldnt these be reversed in the Lot to have 00 on the outside and the 04 in the middle to represent a ave piece next to it?? this is something someone else designed, but to me its wrong acording to the rep 15 values listed in TE editor. You would definately know more about it... I could be wrong and the game could ask for them oposite. Just seems to me it should be 04 in the middle and 00 on outside. Also, with the anylizer.... is there anything in the works to make it capable of opening multiple files at once... so to open say 5 files and compare the stats. (rather then open each file one at a time) one last question, nothing with SC4 tool sorta , if a building req. a Model, a Lot & a Desc file to work and if a zip contains say 2 lots 4desc and a Dat file, would it be safe to say that 2 of the 4 desc files are not needed? seems when I opened a few zips in the anylizer that a couple desc files were blank. are these files then not needed for the building to work ingame? and also If I open a dat file that contains a desc in it... can I use the dat file instead of the desc files? Im guessing that the dat file can contain all the req material. a model and desc combined into a dat and maybe any other req. data all in one. if so, some of them I would like to split the requirements into seperate files again. or if a dat is suplied and a desc is too, I may be able to delete all the desc and just keep the dat file. this could posibly take out about 100 files from the plugin folder. its one person in particular I am trying to reduce the number of files by taking extra stuff out atm. It seems if a file doesnt open in the anylizer, or comes up blank in the anylizer does this mean there is something wrong with it? should it then be deleted and taken out? or does it have something to do with the anylizer itself? any help on these questions would be wonderful, or even a redirect on information. again great work on the program, I look forward to upcomming revisions.
