I saw some videos on Youtube about The Sims 3 Future Expansion pack, which looks similar to Sim City 4 Deluxe. Does anyone know where to buy this program? I am interested because it lets you design and create a custom house or even an entire small neighborhoood. It would be nice to build a Venus Project style community.

I guess you can buy it from a store or from Amazon or eBay.

"If you try to please everybody, you often times end up pleasing nobody, especially yourself. When somebody offers to do a favor for free, like making a mod for SimCity 4, you shouldn't be overly critical of something generously given to you. In other words, you shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth." - Twilight Sparkle after playing SimCity

"Being a mayor or a content creator for SimCity 4 is a heavy responsibility, Patrick. Each city and each custom content is like a child, and must be treated as such." - SpongeBob Squarepants after playing SimCity

"Without deviation from the norm, progress is not possible." - Frank Zappa

If you have Origin, you can get Sims 3 and as many of its expansion packs you want for great discounts during any almost any holiday. I only have Origin because SimCity 2013 (which I no longer play) requires it.

--Ocram

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3

Well, it's a game, not a program per se (I know it's a program, just not in the traditional sense that limits you to mere building design). You can get it off Origin (y'know, maxis product and all), a game retailer of your choice that happens to offer it (I don't know of any that don't at least have the base-game). It's really just...out there. Definitely not the hardest game in the world to find. Especially considering its popularity.

1. You are an native English speaker, others are not. Dont expect everyone to be as fluent as you. There are kids here who probably only have spoken English for a few years, so there is no need to argue over semantics. We all now that an automobile and a car is the same thing.

2. Yes, The Sims is a game, a virtual dollhouse, but the buildmode is also a 3D modelling software using existing models. Although The Sims is majorily intended as a game, the OP was majorily interested in it for designing(Comparing The Sims too citybuilders like Simcity, should hint about that). Thus the gaming aspect of it, kinda disappear...

3. All files on your computer that are executionable software are technically speaking (computer)programs. Both your web-browser, word processor and your favourite citybuilder are files written in a programminglanguage and later translated to gibberish computerlanguage. And so is The sims...

I'm sure he knows by now, it has been mentioned a couple of times...
