Do you have the NAM installed? If you do, there should be track pieces in the same folder as your tram stations, further up.

There are single track pieces and also pieces for use in roads and avenues.

It's getting kind of hard to believe things are going to get better. I've been drowning to long to believe that the tides going to turn.

Success simply consists of getting up one more time than you fall.

NAM requires a minimum update level for the game (1,1,638,0).  If you loaded from CD you will need the correct EP1 update from here.

well obviously I didn't use the right NAM cause after i got it i went into the game and saw nothing new so no tram tracks or nothing this is getting me annoyed all i wanted was to offer my residence an alternative to driving a car or taking the train, bus plane or monorail.  So much for that can someone set me up with the link to the correct NAM download please and thank you.

The NAM version that is currently the only one supported is NAM 32.  It is hosted off site because of its size.

Note that when you first unpack this file, you will get yet another archive which, when unpacked, will give you the NAM installer.  This is anything but an ordinary package.  Read the instructions well, and think about using the installer incrementally.

Nonny is correct-it's important you follow the NAM's instructions of installation.

i got it working but only found tram stations now track to go from station to station so i guess my peeps have to keep shelling out money for gas or use one of the already pre existing modes of transportation unless someone knows how to fix this given i did what i was suppose to do and it worked for the most part. i'm soon gonna give up on trying to have a transit system like Toronto or any of the major cities that use a tram service.

Tram tracks should appear in the Mass Transit menu, right next to subways.  There are only a couple of buttons; one each for tram-in-road, tram-in-street, tram-in-avenue, light rail puzzle pieces, and draggable light rail.  Use the TAB key to cycle through the pieces and HOME and END to rotate things.

NAM features take some practice to get working properly so I suggest you play around with the pieces in a blank region until you get it figured out.  Check the NAM guides that come with the download for more info.

Maybe their names are confusing you.

They are called GLR (for Ground Light Rail), in both puzzle-piece (lay track tiles one by one) or draggable form (first lay a "starter' puzzle-piece and then drag the network starting from it). GLR may connect to elevated rail as well. There are also GLR-in-Avenue (or Tram-in-Avenue" ?), Tram-in-Road, Tram-on-Road, Tram-on-Street and Tram-on-PedMall puzzle-pieces, all connecting with the others. All is included into the NAM.

RTMT contains stations for GLR-in-Avenue and Tram-in/on-Road networks (GLR-only, or combined with bus and/or subway).

If you removed part of the NAM, rerun the installer.  You can only have one traffic simulator and all the others are thoroughly out of date.

If you look closely at the animation in my signature it is a segment of GLR.

i installed NAM they way i was told to but I still have no track to go with the tram stations i have so i found a mod to make my rail lines electric so i'll just go with that unless that didn't download right either and i wish there were more Canadian Buildings on here cause i have always wanted to see someone make the Eaton Centre in Toronto and since the parliment buildings are here why not the Gov. Gen. house or Prime Ministers residence.  We have more international content in here then we do Canadian and i have never learned to do the design thing so i couldn't make a building if my life depended on it. but i do love the stuff that folks are designing for on here

There is only one supported version of the NAM.  V32 at present.  If you have anything else, you should change.  To get the tracks chose the option for GLR.

You could also read the documentation in C:\Documents\SimCity 4\NAM Auxiliary Files\Documentation.

You need to take it steady running the NAM installer, all the content is there, so do a custom install and go through each part one by one and you can't go wrong. If you come across something you don't fully understand, then ask.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

thanks folks everything is working fine and what a cut down in street traffic now that i have Trams up and running most of my street traffic is from taxi cabs or news, police, fire and delivery vehicles. would like to find someone from Toronto who could do a couple of Functional commercial buildings based on the Royal York Hotel and The Westin Harbour Castle.  I would also like to see a more realistic looking campground cause the one i have just looks to plain no check in office no canteen no pool no playground all ya get is the flicker of campfires at night that is it and it should be functioning which means we need our vehicles designers to make motor homes, camper vans, Air Stream trailers etc.  i am not a designer but don't mind sharing ideas if anyone even cares what goes from my head to the keyboard here.
