Here are some pics of avenue pieces from the newest NAM and some road connections with them, just some different kind of intersections, thats all:

This one here, it is like a roundabout, avenue piece in the middle, and then connect to it with the roads (It also shows the roundabouts mod that has been made here, cant remember by whom. And a little texture problem connection with the diagonal streets mod:

Wow! I did not know we could do such things with the NAM! I'll have to mess around with that later! Are those part of the puzzle pieces, or the onramp/overpass thingies?

Saint Andrew:
Thank you for this nice comment.
I am afraid that I will be unable to do that. Because most of my pictures don't show creative network layouts. And the pics you have seen above were taken in a city I no longer work on. But I will go and have a look if I can find some more old images to show here. Now I concentrate on two new projects there nothing applicable to this thread is to be seen (yet).

(If you want to see one, check my sig.)

Edit:
DuskTrooper:
All you can see is a combination of the various road-, oneway-, and avenue-puzzle-pieces. Most useful are the on-slope ones. But they are the hardest to get to look well also. Just try them out.

Edit again:
Ok, I found some other pictures that I can show here. But remember, all you see is unfinished work in a city I will not develope any more.

I like the elevated road segments and intersections. That is so cool.

I don't know how anyone can still play a vanilla Sc4!

Ok, Ok. I have found some more pictures. But this is the definitife collection. There are no more I could show here. I simply don't have no more traffic related images. Some of those that are following are a little bit off topic already.

This are the last images I will post here for some time.

And please remember that every one of them was taken in an unfinished city I no longer work on.

Thank you gurrgkud! I have seen these pics in your journal already and they are great. Very good use of this japanese Hiroshima station lots. I like them, too. But never had a city there they would fit in.

Edit:
DuskTrooper:
Another time I have to edit my post for you. Lol.

Ok, I will have a look at this city and post some illustrating pics later.

I don't know if I ever posted here, but my C.J. fans say this looks good so I guess it is...

I was mostly inspired by the Tunnel that connects England and France.Of course my tunnel is not as long or does it look like the tunnel, but if anyone here has seen the tunnel in real life then I guess you can give me some pointers or tips to make it more realistic.Other then that here we go.

crownpointmay50211246852834zv.jpg

We keep going and we appeared to reach the new junction the rails make.It makes the rail system more effective.

crownpointmay50211246853609qg.jpg

Here we can see a close up of the rails as they go underground. It is an important tunnel to the new residents in the suburbs.

crownpointmay50211246853242nq.jpg

Heres a zoomed out view of the East Exit as most residents call it.I really like how that plaza area turned out around it.Below you can see the West Exit and many new houses. This is my absoulute favorite of all the pics shown in this update and I'm not sure why...

You tell me if there good....enjoy!

These pictures are great! But the railway that goes through the tunnel is supposed to be a high speed one, isn't it? Then you shouldn't cross it on level with a road. You will never see something in real world. It isn't allowed due to security concerns.

DuskTrooper:
I put together some images explaining how to build this intersection.

A little tutorial on the use of the NAM puzzle pieces

This is the basic layout of the intersection we are going to build:

d9jan0011249053295hq.jpg

We start by raising the terrain and put an 'avenue on slope' piece:

d9jan0011249056066on.jpg

Then we lay down an 'avenue over avenue' and an 'avenue over road' piece:

d9jan0011249056720le.jpg

Now we fill the space in between with 'avenue over open ground' pieces. But leave a gap right in the middle:

d9jan0011249057217nb.jpg

In this gap we put an 'avenue x road intersection' piece:

d9jan0011249057905ai.jpg

Now we select the one-way-puzzle-pieces-sub-menu and build four one-way on-ramps. But make sure the arrows that appear while laying them down point in the right direction:

d9jan0011249058503if.jpg

Then we put the 'road/one-way t-intersection' pieces in their place. (This pieces can also be found in the one-way submenu.) And connect the on-ramps with the avenue and the road using the normal one-way tool:

d9jan0011249059561sq.jpg

There we are! The intersection is ready.

Side note: I noticed that the euro version of the 'road/one-way t-intersection' puzzle piece is quite ugly. The normal version does look better but a little bit strange, too.

d9jan0011249059765ed.jpg

I hope this helps.

Edit:
As suggested by gurrgkud I add the following:

You get the various puzzle pieces by selecting the corresponding menu and then pressing tab to cycle through all available pieces.
To change the orientation press the 'home' and 'end' keys.

I hope this helps, too.

Yes, it helps alot! It turns out that I had a conflict in my NAM folder, which caused the pieces not to show up (I forgot to remove the old GLR mod). But, now, I can do it! Thanks for the tutorial, too, BTW!44.gif

barnatom. Thanks! Yeah those japanese bats can make wonders. Btw.. great tutorial! One thing that you could add is the fact that you have to use the TAB key to get the different pieces. When i first started it took me FOREVER to realize that.. so maybe newer people dont know that either.

Cjah. you are right... that DOES look good 1.gif. Btw.. where did you get the rail-to-subway connector (im guessing that's what it is)?

aleking. that region looks amazing!

Here's something i've been experimenting with. This might or might not make it to my CJ, Cordova , in the future.

DuskTrooper:
I am so glad that I never had such problems.

gurrgkud:
Thank you. I added the part about the tab key.
And you have a good looking interchange there. May I ask how to get the exits that end in a single road only? I have seen them before, but I never found them in my menus. Perhaps I should go and look again.
It always bothered me to get those 'little stubs' of roads on both sides of the exit.

Hmm...
I tried something new in my UK village. It is some kind of a 'half underpass'.

Here is a creative Freeway.  It is named The Alyson Freeway (The AlyWay) after the city of Alyson Heights.
