Simtropolis Has Been Hacked!?

Well, I guess that explains why I was gettting denial of service messages in IE.

Whoever did it better run and hide as this alien isn't happy about losing 20 minutes of posting work and not being able to access ST for roughly 2 hours.

I wasn't having any problems in the forums and then suddenly page load timed out. I could get to the home page though.

I thought, maybe it was just holiday maintainence and logged off for a bit.

 

EDIT: I should also mention, it gave me a set of 4 strange cookies, simply titled ST/ in capital letters.

 

Trust me, I know what files and cookies are in my TI file, right this minute and every hour before the occurance. Unless that was a new set from here. I have been to no other websites today, except MSN and here.

I get time out errors all the time.....I just got one like ten mins ago....

 

All I know is I hope they catch this guy and ban him better then they do to me....

well, I don't know... It's good someone pointed a lack in the site defense so it could be repaired... But hen someone would make some damage to the site it would be not nice

Well, I am going to change my passwords because of this.  Based on what the hacker typed up, I am guessing that he didn't take advantage of the fact that he could access other people's info, but then again, I've never really taken the idea of a benevolent hacker too seriously either.

Ohh! Hacker! Well, at least it was for the better of ST. I still don't like the idea of someone hacking to tell us this security vunerablity. That's why there's PMs young children. j/k.
