Deleting post

Hello,

Good afternoon everybody. Can you please tell me the procedure to delete any of my post in the forum? I have mistakenly made two posts on real estate website and want to delete one of them.

PM a moderator or administrator.  The nature of the data base is such that nothing can be deleted.  Posts can be moved to archives which are not visible to ordinary users.  Your best bet is to access the post, use the edit button, and clear the text.

Either that, or just click the Report button on the post and send in a report to a moderator .

That's quite a good idea, as reports will be viewed by staff who have access to that particular forum.

 

But usually there's no reason to request something deleting, unless you've changed your mind shortly after posting (aka "I wish I didn't post that"). If you've made a help topic which has been answered, keeping the posts may be useful for others looking for a similar solution. In these cases, requesting a thread to be locked is a better way forward. If ever in doubt, feel free to contact a member of staff.

Seems like you should be able to delete your own post if it is the one you are currently working with . I just had a reason. I was uploading images to a "show us your... " thread but then was unable to post the images, rendering the post pointless. Worked it out though it was a pain and time consuming.

I agree that you should be able to delete your own posts (not exactly delete, but send to the archives instead, thus making it invisible to a normal Simtropolis user). Would make the Simtropolis experience even more enjoyable .

FB seems to work that way too. ive del some of my own posts there only to find it still there, you can also hide your post for your eyes only. but seems to me whats posted anywhere on the net is allways there....

 

i just use the edit button and del my post
