Thanks for the welcome back Mallow.

One Main is lookin' good! I did notice something though....

Is this a building from over in the Lloyd District? It looks a lot like the one that has the Macintosh Store in it...

    Oops forgot the pic....

    whatisthis.jpg

That should be it... Looks very Lloyd Districtish...

Oh does anyone know exactly how to make a bus stop/CO lot? I've tried my hand at it with weird results. The best I could do was the lot queired correctly with the route query, but the regular query didn't show the bus capacity, just the CO occupancy... I need it to show both...

sparky, that's one of simgoobers Suburban Offices, search the stex and you should be able to find it. and what building does it look like in lloyd? if you know where it is in the city, i could place that same one in the spot.

portlandexpos04, pacwest will be released soon. office buildings take alot more editing in ilive and lot making than the made in oregon landmark lol, today i have my last final exam at school, so after that i should have ample time to release PacWest aswell as One main place this week.

actually, i'll be in portland tomorrow and the next day, so if i don't get them out tonight, expect them for later in the week 9.gif

Yup, that's right. It's sort-of a realator/architect conspiracy, as those building and selling the building's space can be very superstitious (or appear to be if they think people intent on leasing the space are!).

The market for office space in the last few years is a tough one, which makes taller buildings a bit more unprofitable (especially with subruban office parks competing against downtown real estate). Office tenants tend to be really picky. So, they just leave out the 13th in many case for it sometimes is, statisticly, the worst-selling floor.

Some buildings may have a 13th floor, but the space is occupied by telco equipment, maintenance space, or HVAC stuff. Most of the time, it's just omitted (the 13th is actually labeled the 14th or some such nonsense).

Jt, SimGoober's building looks a lot like the Lloyd 700 Building, although the block it sits on is entirely filled with a parking lot. There's a pic of it on it's leasing agent's website: http://www.ashforthpacificinc.com/leasingservices/#700

Its on the south side of 700 NE Multnomah Street at (if I recall) NE 6th or 7th Avenue (I walk across the parking lot from the NE 7th MAX stop to get to the Mac store ever so often). Hope this helps ya place it in SimPortland!

SimCityMafia4, nice job on explaing your problem! but it's an easy fix, you must not have the rush hour and SimCity 4 Building as Props, located at www.simcity.com under downloads/tools/lot editor (and you must be loged in). i will the file on stex with this info, because you are the second person with this problem. BTW, i see that you have many other of my buildings in your menu! nice! :D

portlandexpos04, awesome PDF! very cool pics and info on lloyd, thanks so much! i will definaly include this in an update to come :)

Here's a quick update to what's happening here:

Still can't get a combined bus stop/office building to work. I tried asking for help in the modd section, but to no avail (no replys).

So here's the plan: I'm going to try to figure out how Rubick3 made the WTC an office subway combo and reverse-engineer it. If I can't figure it out, then I'll shelve the project. If that happens, I'll just re-release Congress Center and Big Pink with the modified capacities.

Also, I have another TriMet(Portland's transit system for you out-of-towners) related project cooking. I recieved a PM from Dave1215, a fellow transit webmaster, who may be able to make skins for the Sim City buses. This way, the Transit Mall would look even more realistic with the buses in TriMet colors! I gotta look up how to do this, and this is not on the official to-do list yet... But it may!

Well, looking at the WTC file didn't clear things up for me... Looks like adding jobs to a transit stop is a bad idea for now. Oh well...

Look for Big Pink and Congress Center to be on in a few...

Noo! Not the trimet busses! Anything...

I have to ride them almost everyday; the last thing I want to do is put 'em in my cities. *shudder*
I play games to escape reality! Hmm...simcity is contrary to that...odd...

Well, the TriMet stuff may be a we can draw it and make it, but not be able to put it in the game type thing... SAC was making a bunch of great real-life bus and urban rail mods, but it looks like he's not doing it for the time being... 7.gif That's cool though, real life catches up to you fast. And it's approaching very quickly for me too...

I like TriMet quite a bit. There could be things that could be improved (like more transit trackers, less $900 trashcans, and more signal priority for the buses!), but its a heck of a lot better than other transit systems I've rode on. San Diego has a nice system, but TriMet's MAX LRT system makes their light rail look like a slug in a dump. The only other system I think is really cool is Vancouver, Canada's TransLink. Its very modern and features a driverless elevated SkyTrain as the crown jewel.

that would be aweomse if SAC could make trimet, cus right now i have a lot of different bus mods, and i'm even seeing the red british double deckers trucking around portland lol, looks kinda funny...

i have all the files ready for PacWest, and now all i need to do is make the growable for One Main Place, and then i will beable to relase them both at the same time. i plaied city a lot last night, and took lots of pics for my CJ so keep an eye out an update soon! as well as new portland buildings :)

sparky, glad to see that you rerelased congress center, good luck on you next portland project, what will you be working on next to finish? and has the made in oregon sign helped you any for neons?

and i don't think it's very important to add jobs to transit stops. they are fine w/ or w/o jobs :D

and now, i go back to work ... haha, (i have a full time job now for winter break, so that's why things on my end have slowed down a little 3.gif)

Love all the Portland buildings - can't wait to see whats next!

Sorry to bring the issue with Made in Oregon back again, but I've got the building props from SimCity.com but I still don't see any buildings in the game or the lot editor. Any clue on which building(s) were used from the prop menu?

    Thanks

BTW Keep up the good work. These BAT's are much better that Maxis' recent offerings!

thanks alot HTH, but i have no idea what the problem might be, did you make sure to download both buildings as props? both rush hour and sc4? if so, then i'm not sure, i can look in LE and see what the props names are.

thanks crazy! glad you're liking the not yet released buildings lol

ya know, it just wouldn't be portland without the Portland Center Apartments

The realism of that apartment building is stunning! I can see how the BAT model is identical to the real-life apartments - even the colours of the windows are the same. 6.gif
The great thing about this BAT is that it would fit in any city modeled after ones in Canada and the US; I've seen apartments that are almost identical to these ones in the suburbs of Toronto.
