Use SC4Tool to see all the textures. Use the texture scanner.

I posted earlier some texture I made for diagonal glr-puzzle pieces, but haven't heard from anybody.

Puzzle peices for highways? Particularly an "on slope" peice that will transition from a ground highway on a 15m embankment to a elevated highway.

Would it be possible to make road/monorail double puzzle pieces similar to the El-rail ones you have now, to save space?

Is it possible to change traffic rules?

1. Coming to a full stop, then legally turning right on red.

2. Illegally running red lights.

3. Stopping on a merging road to a highway. (ala Louisiana)

4. Driving in the RHW's breakdown lane.

And finally, some more pictures. Remember that intersection I was telling yous about in the RHW thread? Well, Google Maps includes it now! (yay)

@MrWacko:  Theoretically, that is possible.  I think some of the reason that those puzzle pieces haven't been in NAM is because the Monorail is somewhat of an unpopular network, and there's been several proposals to replace it (like the High Speed Rail project).

@LivingInThePast:  Yes, as far as I know, it is possible to change the traffic rules.  As far as right turn on red, that might be a little bit complicated.  I think that there already are situations of motorists running red lights (in overcongested situations) as I recall.  Stopping on a merging road to a highway would definitely be possible--it may be a future feature of the RHW.  The breakdown lane . . . when traffic gets congested and there are wrecks, some vehicles will end up over there.  It's always possible to path the vehicles to go over there, but they'd be driving over there all the time like it's a normal lane on the highway.  I'm not sure if it would be possible to get cars to randomly break down and pull over . . . maybe with some sort of lot/puzzle piece.

And if I manage to get the modular ramp system to work for the RHW, it shouldn't be a problem to make that interchange.

(By the way, are you by any chance a Jethro Tull fan?  They did a song (and an album) called "Living In the Past".)

No.

Also, I like Monorail, is it possible to increase the capacity of it?

Here's a cool interchange I'd like to see, where the outermost lanes split off and becomes two lanes: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=Caldwell,+texas&ie=UTF8&om=1&z=17&ll=30.302798,-96.951224&spn=0.004261,0.013229&t=k

Another thing I hate is UDI rules. I'd like to...

1. Not be penalized when I smash other cars.

2. Swerve around on bridges and highways.

3. Change the clunky highway pathing rules.

That last one I'm especially akin to. I messed up a mission by missing the stupid off-ramp and couldn't turn around because of the rules and the stupid Jersey barrier. I couldn't get to the Days Inn I wanted and had to abort the mission. Fortunatly, the RHW could someday replace that, right?

First of all, I think the NAM team is doing a great job - no pressure on next release (although it would be nice if the showcase was up and running again 2.gif). And I hate to request anything, but would it be possible to make a rail loop puzzle piece, like the GLR one? It takes up a lot of space to make a loop currently, and I hate during U-Drive-It missions (only evil ones, of course - they give you money 11.gif) how the train dissapears when you get to the end of the track.

If you think its too much work, I can live without it - keep up the good work!

OK, about the Subways. As far as I know, they work like the old SC2K/3K where one can just "jump" across to stations without any difference if their station is 2 stations away from destination or 9. Listen, has anyone ever played SimTower? Like SimTower, certain subway trains (buying more if needed), stop at certain stations on certain tracks at certain times. For example, a train could wait 4 minutes...that gives more time for hopping on people and getting off, but irritates train riders. Also, a train could stop at a certain station at only 11. I could farther in, but SimCity 4 affionciandos could build up an effective city, linked with commute times, but it drive newbies away. This could be done as a seperate module before NAM implentation. How about the MTM (Mass Transit Mod)?

On the topic of highway puzzle pieces -- I really hope that someone could do a set of pontoon bridge puzzle pieces. I.e., highway pieces (ground and elevated) with water texture underneath. I'm guessing that this would be pretty simple if someone is already creating the highway pieces, possibly complicated by all the available water texture mods. But it really would be cool to have floating bridges--that way you could span large lakes without configging the region in a way that disrupted the continuity of the two shores.

I was wondering. Can you make mor realistic over passes because the ones in the game are really steep if you observe it long enough, and can you makethe over passes with land raising it up? 4.gif2.gif9.gif

@justintime Do you expect someone to modd this, or are you just showing it off to us? What is your purpose with this? You need to describe or you'll never get any responses.

@justintime:  There are already Cable-Stayed Avenue bridges in the game.  Just try to build an Avenue across water; the option should come up.

@deathtodora:  Well, there are some overpass pieces in the NAM.  And you can make natural overpasses as well, just raise up the land where you want to build the overpass and build the highway (or other roadway) under it through a tunnel.

@justintime:  My apologies if it seemed as if I was labeling you a "$%&^!", but I'd agree with MaybeMemories06 that some specifics might help us address your requests a little easier.

Anyways, it actually wouldn't be too hard to make a white 2-tower Cable-Stayed bridge.  I think you can actually get the second tower if the bridge is long enough.  As far as changing the color, it actually would just require a simple re-texture of the bridge pieces in iLive's Reader.  It's definitely doable.  Unfortunately, I'm not sure I can commit at this point, since I'm currently occupied with the RHW project and RL, but as far as I know, it wouldn't be hard.  If you were interested in learning modding, it might actually be a good first project for you.

Again, I'm sorry if I seemed at all condescending--that wasn't my intent.  I'd just like to help.

-Tarkus

Edit:  It might be possible to decrease the distance between the towers as well, but that would be quite a bit trickier.

Hi here!

I'm asking if it's possible to make a modd that change the dark grey shape of the in-game roads, avenue and one-way roads by a light grey like the street??? It would be very usefull for realism and the homogeneity of the road network...also.

you can visit my Omaha, NE and Council Bluffs, IA metro area CJ...Thanks! :-)

I used gLeNni's Trashy avenue tunnel for the pic. Maybe something similiar to that pic would be nice for in the NAM. 4.gif

_______/|-----------|\_______ theres your bridge now be more polite next time and maybe youll get a real one.....anyhow this was not the point of my post...another suggestion is major elevated rail station with 3 line connections or so and a multiple subway station connector underground. They have these in Japan and I was wondering if it was possible to make one for the game and my apologies if someone had already posted a request such as this but it was worth a shot...

Hmm... may have been suggested already (and I'm not sure if this would be in this mod anyway), but would it be possible to get avenue pieces which have a line of car parking in the middle instead of a central barrier, like lots of London roads? Could give a very small bonus similar to the car park structure.

eg. http://www.longwood.edu/honors/Brent%20Study%20Abroad/Queens_Gate_Road.JPG

Also, roads with bus lanes would be interesting....

9.jpg

Oh, and a congestion charge system, but thats probably impossible to code. Could be simulated with toll-booths tho...
