What Road Textures and Sidewalk mods are you using?

Hello everyone, I would like to ask people to give me some data regarding use of certain sidewalk mods and road textures so I can consider making other sets as part of my NAM Sidewalk Texture mod.

In-short I've found a great way to automate so much of this work, that for Euro Textures I can knock up another sidewalk variant in less than 20 minutes. US Textures are a bit more of a problem, as this would take a long time to make another set of Alpha images, and I don't have any use personally for US textures.

Therefore the more feedback I can get here, the easier it would be for me to see what people want the most and the most popular sidewalk mods can make it to many more NAM pieces.

Do you like custom textures, but don't like all the work involved creating them?, take a look at the Texture Automation options here. Change the look and feel of your transit networks, with the minimum of effort, for example customised versions of my Sidewalk NAM (SWN) and Terrain Grass NAM (TGN) mods, and much more besides.

Well the most commonly used texture set is going to be the default US textures. Not sure if you've discovered and used it, but my fellow NAMite Maarten (Mandelsoft) uploaded the complete set of NAM road textures and sidewalk alphas. There's a download link in his Road Retexture Team thread here at ST (I'd provide a link but I'm on my phone)

For road textures, I use the default US ones. I never looked for a lighter color for roads/avenues, although that would probably be nice.

For sidewalk textures, I use Paeng's Sandstone mod plus AtmoGuy's additions for NAM pieces and RTMT.

Actually I am using Paeng's Sandstone - that's what I've created a mod for, the first part is already available for download on the STEX.

In short, right now I need to create and colour adjust a single base texture, run some automated routines and I can add any sidewalk to the following items:

    - Turbo Roundabouts

    - TULEPs

    - NWM TULEPs

I am currently at work updating the Sandstone mod for GLR and all the other stuff not currently covered by existing mods, so when I've finished I'll have templates for everything with EU textures.

Since it's so easy to then make multiple sidewalk versions, I hoped to put all my work to as much use as possible and cover the most popular sidewalks so as to benefit the most people.

I'm getting that the US textures seem to be more predominant, but even so it's asking a lot of someone to redo 1000's of textures to make a US variant they have no use for. However, if someone else was willing to edit the US textures (literally just remove the sidewalks so they are transparent for each texture) the rest could be done in seconds, provided it was exported in the correct fashion to work with my automation. If no one else is willing to take up this part, then I guess for the moment at least they will remain EU only.

Thanks for that, I was able to find it and downloaded it, it doesn't really work for what I'm trying to do here, but certainly I can see it will come in handy for other things I have planned.

Now I am into the Euro road textures seeing as the white dashed lines are common place here in my country. But there are sections of roads that do convert into the default US (Double striped yellow lines) textures here and there too.

Hmm...thought I'd replied to this earlier, but it seems it didn't post.

How about any of Gobias' mods? They're really high quality and very nice looking, too.
