extra cheats mod?

Ok I have been downloading mods for awhile now and this is the only mod I cant get to work. I extract it in my plugins and nothing what is this mod to do?

First, be sure to place it directly in the Plugins folder, not in a subfolder. To see the effects of the mod, when in the game, bring up the 'cheat box' (ctrl-x). then right-click inside the box. This should drop down a list of cheats that can be selected from.

Now, I don't know if anyone else has experienced this but there are times where this mod just does not work, in the sense of the drop down list not appearing when I right click the cheat box. So far, the only solution I've found is to exit the game then re-enter and then the drop down list appears.

It happens with me too, Cheddar, and I've to enter the game again so it works.

Since moving this file to the Program Files\Sim City 4\Plugins folder I find it is a lot more reliable, but I still have to reload occasionally for whatever reason.

I have it in my regular Plugins folder as its own separate file, no subfolders.  Works every time.  Funny that Windows has a random problem with it.  Linux/wine does not.  This appears to be the only difference.

I have been trying for a year and it just won't work its sitting there right next to the nam and terrain mod and it just don't work

Did you try moving it to the Program Files\SimCity4\Plugins folder as rsc204 mentioned above? I know when I first started using it - on a much older computer - I had to place it there.

 

And yes, since being on a newer computer, I also get the intermittent problem with the drop down menu not working. A simple game restart has always 'fixed' it.

This is one of the few cases where I tend to agree that this package should be in the system residency (C:\program files ...).  It is really an extension of the program, so why not?  It is not a plugin, but a dynamic link library that should load with the game.
