RIP. I'm sorry I can't give any references because I'm not a fan, but okay. A bit off but is Mahathir fine? I heard some rumors that he died.

Tun Mahathir was still alive right now. Age 98 old! Right now, he on National Heart Institute (Institut Jantung Negara - IJN). Remember, never believe the fake news!

Phil Lesh passed away a couple of days ago. He was one of the founding members of the Grateful Dead.

As a Deadhead, I was saddened to hear the news. If you've never listened to the Dead before, then I would of course urge you to give them a try because you might just love them as much as the rest of us Deadheads.... but if there's one message I'd like to get across after Phil's passing, it's that you should sign up to become and organ donor. I have no doubt that it's a message that was close to Phil's heart, as he had a liver transplant back in 1998. That glorious gift of a liver let Phil live another 26 years. Can you think of any greater gift?... it's infinitely better than just taking it to your grave.

Rest in peace, Phil and say hi to Gerry and Pigpen for me.

If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend watching the movie "Top Secret!".

The film was written and directed by Jim Abrahams, David Zucker, and Jerry Zucker. The team behind "Airplane!". Not only is "Top Secret!" hilarious in it's own right, it was also Val Kilmer's acting debut. There he is, his first time on the big screen (any screen as far as I know), and he is it's like he has been doing it for years. He really was brilliant.

Anyway, I'm gonna grab my surfboard and my shotgun, and go catch some waves.

Donna Jean Godchaux

August 22, 1947 – November 2, 2025

Donna Jean was an irreplaceable part of the magic that made the Grateful Dead truly special to Deadheads such as myself. Not only did her voice help to lift the Dead to some of their highest highs during the period she was with the band, she was also responsible for introducing Jerry Garcia to her husband Keith Godchaux who would go on to play keyboards with the Dead from '71 to '79.

It's always a pleasure hearing Donna sing and on the handful of recordings where you hear her laughing (usually at Bob Weir growling out certain lyrics), it always brings a smile to my face.

Bob Weir passed away yesterday.

For anyone who is a Dead Head, they'll know Bob for the energy, commitment, and humour that he brought to the stage. Not to mention the passion and love that he shared through his music. When I think of the Dead, it's Bob's voice I hear. Sometimes soft and soulful.... and sometimes howling and growling like a man possessed. I don't normally get effected by the deaths of famous people but this one hits hard.

Rest in peace, Bob.

Keep on dancing through to daylight
Greet the morning air with song
No one's noticed but the band's all packed and gone
Was it ever here at all?

....
But they kept on dancing

Automated Notice Message

All posts after 1 March, 2026 @ 01:37 GMT were lost in the site crash.

We've added this message thread divider in every topic across all forums for what were then active threads. (We decided active is if the most recent extant post (from the backup) was on or after 1 January, 2026.)

This divider serves as notice that the conversation was interrupted. Answers and further discussion which used to be here have been lost. Keep this in mind when replying. Our hope is to rebuild what is missing.

I am Lab Rat.
