Connecting islands

Good morning everyone, I'm building a region full of a bunch of Islands, I'm just wondering if workers travel to other islands on ferry's?

yes, it would be considered a transportation connection so a ferry from one island to another will work. just make sure you have plenty of jobs available

Yes.  Bridges would work too of course, if your islands are in the same tile.

If your islands are far apart or on different tiles, then ferries are the best way to connect them.  Make sure you have the same type of ferry on each island you want to connect.  For example it does no good to have a car and passenger ferry on one island and a passenger only ferry on an other island.

One of the things I've always wanted for islands is a way to prohibit cars, especially on a small island.  I suppose you can do this with passenger only ferries, but keeping people from driving around the island is a pain.

I use ferry's for long distance, they're cheaper than building bridges. Just a tip, if you start building bridges and you're not using NAM, expect a big decrease in the quantity of ferry passengers.
