I saw many vids in YouTube but they are too confusing.

Do you Batters have any secret tutorial for 3dsMax Stair & Railing which is easy & simple. I am a newbie, I am still learning the basics of 3dsMax.

Not sure which part is confusing you, its pretty straight forward, albeit a bit painful. Hope this helps...

For Stairs:

After navigating to Create>Stair, select the stair type you want. Lets say Straight Stair.

Refer to picture:

  1. Click at position 1, hold button and drag mouse to position 2, then release***.
  2. Drag mouse to position 3, left click and release.
  3. Drag mouse to position 4, left click and release.

That's your stair made.

***Make sure you don't release at position 1. That's probably where its most easy to go wrong.

Then you can just play with the parameters to see what they do.

Railings are even easier.

After navigating to Create>AEC Extended>Railing

Refer picture:

  1. Click at position 1, hold button and drag mouse to position 2, then release.
  2. Drag mouse to position 3, left click and release.

That's it. Then you can just play with the parameters. The trickiest part (but not tricky at all) is if you want to increase the number of posts/ pickets, or change their position, you need to click those little square icons in each of sections, they open up a dialog you can play with more settings in there.

Hope this helps. No idea if there are tutorials on this, but once you get past the initial drag and release, then you don't really need a tutorial you should be able to work the rest out.

Let me know if you need clarification on any of this.

Just for future reference, please use the thread for individual questions. The purpose of this forum is for BATters to showcase their creations and get feedback. If you keep posting single questions, you will push the other BAT arists' threads further down and clutter up the forums. You can also ask a question in your own BAT thread. Thank you! :)

    Thank you ReddonQuixote

Wow that easy thing.. I didn't found that on any YT video.

I came up with this using only the stair option. what I was looking for those iron grill type hand rails or railings.
