Check Out Bing's landing page today!  Looks like one of the highlighted cities / scenes from the Simtropolis Landing Page.  What do you think? It made ME do a doubletake!

Clearly you guys don't get  the compliment to simptropolis design.  I know how to log onto BING.COM and where I am when doing so,   I said Bing's landing page featured photo  " LOOKS like one of the featured cities on Simptropolis landing page" as in SimCity does produce some real-world like cities by its designers.......

    That ain't Simtropolis.

    1. Simtropolis doesn't have a giant Bng search bar on it.

    2. Simtropolis doesn't have various pictures of whoever that may be on the bottom.

I get what you're trying to say, but I must also point out that the featured CJ box is much smaller than a full-page background photo like the ones shown on Bing.

True, but keep in mind that CJ's with screenshots of SimCity 4 are fixed in the same particular projection and you can tell it's a game because of the way the graphics are displayed.

As for the rest of the site, there are many differences between the BING homepage and the ST homepage. Take for example this screenshot of the homepage:

    fJRpTUx.png

Here are a few things you'll notice just by glancing at the page:

    1. The banner across the top of the page; this is forcing the picture to the bottom of the whole page unless you scroll down right after the page loads.

    2. The advertisement on the right; again this is forcing the picture to the side.

    3. The featured CJ box is so small compared to the rest of what's on the screen. Not everyone will notice it right away unlike Bing where it is upfront and in-your-face.

I understand you would think the picture from the Bing homepage would look like a custom, featured CJ. Sometimes I look a CJ and I first think its a real picture. It is amazing, really. But the reason why we are saying 'no, these sites are not similar' is because the way you wrote the title of this thread reads as 'Logged on to Bing.com and thought it loaded Simtropolis'. This implies that Bing loaded the site Simtropolis rather than saying something like 'I thought it loaded a screenshot of SimCity'. That's what we are trying to tell you. Your title is saying one thing but the rest of your posts are saying otherwise. Just be careful what your title says because that will be the first thing other posters will have on their mind when they want to leave a reply

I get your point  and  I got your point earlier, I am not saying otherwise.  just as 'others can say it doesn't look like a simptropolis featured scene" I can say it does . while others are concerned that they think I said "I thought I logged onto simptropolis" I can read my first post and say it doesn't say that.

Not being rude with you or trying to disagree, i think it is as simple as 'yes and no'

It is very clear that SimRico did not actually think the Bing page was Simtropolis, and was made so in the first post. There is no need to keep pointing out the multitude of obvious differences between their page and ours. The title saying he thought it was Simtropolis is meant as a compliment to the realism demonstrated by some of our city-builders.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

Thank you, @astro VERY much indeed!  You and @airman both are golden!  With that said, could you please lock this discussion down? There's no need for further comments.
