Hi, This is my first post and i don't know if i've placed this post in the right place. I haven't played Sim City for a long while and was interested in playing again. I have a PC copy of SC4 and am looking to play it on my mac. I don't know a lot about these things but I was planning on using boot camp to install windows on my mac. I've read a lot of posts regarding this topic and it seems that a lot of different people have different set ups and therefore lots of different issues. I'd like to get some advice regarding some things that i should look for and set up while I install windows and then SC4

Here are the specs of my computer:

Processor  -  2.5 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory  -  4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics  -  Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB

Software  -  OS X 10.9 (13A603)

Again, I can generally work my way around a computer but I am no expert. I will greatly appreciate any suggestions that you can give me in moving forward with the installation of SC4. Thank you!

You should be fine.  I'm running it via Bootcamp with Windows 7 on my Macbook Pro with no issues.  Just save often.  It still crashes as often as it does on a native Windows computer.

The installation of Windows on your computer is pretty straightforward. You run the Boot Camp Assistant on your Mac and it will tell you what to do. You'll need a USB stick or a disk to save some files! Do think about the sizes of the Mac and Windows partitions. It's hard to change them after you've finished.

Your computer should be able to run SC4 just fine. Installation of the game is easy, just like any other Windows program. I find that my game doesn't crash too often (I have 4 true cores and 4 virtual ones), but in some cities it happens more than others. Be sure to download and install all the patches for SC4, they improve stability a lot (). If you want to decrease the chance of a ctd, you can tell SC4 to use only one core (it seems to have problems with multi-core systems). A quick search for 'crash to desktop' 'multi-core' and 'affinity' should get you the solution. I don't have assigned SC4 to a single core, personally.

If you have any questions, ask! :)
