Alright guys, Im really sorry for the delay, but look for this to be posted in 1-2weeks. I've finished the lot work and the only thing that remains is modding work. The final lot is 14x12, just so you know how much space to clear in your cities for it.

I set the release as mid to late February early on, but If I can get the lot mods done (or get eq to do it for me....) it is feasible that I could bump it up to February 1.

One question: Did you render lot and building all in one? I guess so, because you wanted those light effects to show up around the building, huh?

I dunno... I hardly dare to say it (*takes cover*), but I would like to take a look at the 'bare' building on a conventionally designed lot, which would of course lose those diffused light effects, but gain some more life due to appropriate props and blend in with the rest of the game a tad better... *carefully takes a look out of cover, expecting to be shot at* 38.gif

Yea, I agree, I really don't like it when people BAT significant parts of the ground. Not only is it hard to put props on it, but shadows from props and other buildings won't fall on BATed ground.

The rest is looking great though. I'll be waiting for 1-2 weeks. 1.gif

Lol, ok guys.  Im no good at lots though...  But yeah, I do see your point. However, I was trying to make it as real as I could figure out from photos.  But ok, give me a day or so and Ill work at it.

I had a closer look on the Taipei 101 today, and although the building is really stunning, I have to agree with T Wrecks and Jasoncw - the lot looks a bit bare and lifeless. It might be modeled as close as possible to the real one, but compared to the in-game lots, somehow it does't look right, since all the common props that make a lot alive are missing. Look at the World Trade Center lot, for instance: Rubik3 rendered the buildings seperately and put them together with dozens of small props that fit in really well - they cast shadows, and they intermix with Maxis props seamlessly, along with a set of in-game and custom textures. Don't get me wrong, what you did is truly exceptional, but I think a new lot could enhance the look even further.

Cause the lot is 12x14 and the building is 508 meters high... There fore the model files end up quite large

Ahem... hum. *clears throat* I don't mean to be a PITA (which I am probably being nonetheless 9.gif ), but is there any news on this? Of course you will be focused on BATting the new Freedom Tower nowadays... then again, I would gladly offer to do the lot and modding work myself. If in doubt, just ask EQ about me... he ought to be able to give a qualified judgement, doing the same kind of work. 2.gif

Oh, and don't feel rushed. But maybe, if you have a period where you are fed up with the Freedom Tower, you could...
that would be awesome! 29.gif Thanks in advance! 44.gif
