I personally like the second one better, but both are incredible as is the structure itself. I say it's completely upto you, you've managed the whole process yourself so far, pick your favorite. I'm sure it won't make a difference to us, I just can't wait to see it on the STEX

make an atemed at rendering the second one aka just leav it let it render lol or you only got one pc to use...

    This pic is with only nightlights so it stands out...  I also changed the color, this is going to be the lighting for a limited editon Taipei Gold. I wish the ingame lights would be a pitch black light rig like this instead of the dusk lighting at night.

    After about three tests and some significant reworking to get the lights looking good in the game (the bat tends to have a habit of over-saturationg the lights on the building so it looks funny) This is what I have for Taipei Gold.

    Some of the lights are still a bit over-excited, but if I have time today, I'll turn the zealous ones down and do a re-render.
    Ps: Here are some rather astounding facts: There are 187875 total polygons in the scene (only 875 over my initial estimates I believe) and the render time takes slightly more than 2 hours in 3ds max...

    Oh my!  Thats not what ya showed me before... lol, that is over bearing.  Kinda looks like a red and yellow stripped pattern 1.gif  Yup, they definately need to be turned down a bit.

    Also is it me or does the building seem blue instead of green? 42.gif Just an observation that I might be wrong on?!

    Phew, almost done with finals.  By this evening, there will be no more pesky school stuff, and I have a bit of an experiment I want to do with this project, I should have details by tommorrow. so keep an eye out for it.

    Alright, here goes the big announcement all of you have waited for...

    As an experiment, I will pre-release a one of a kind version of the taipei 101 project, Taipei Gold.
    The only way to obtain the model will be to be one of the lucky individuals selected by random drawing, or by me for their support and help with the project.  The number of people selected will depend on the number of people who apply for the model.  A new thread will soon be posted outlining the rules and restrictions for the drawing.  I will post a new thread soley for the selection process and put it's link in this thread and my signature, please reserve any questions on this particular matter for the other thread.

    I hate to be an $%&^! but - why the drawings for the BAT and model dragging out releasing your BAT? It has been 4+ months on this thread - I respect your work as with any other BAT'ter but personally I see this as ego stroking silliness.
     
    Maybe that is just me though.

    It is not really just dragging it out, the final is still far from completion, and if you will check the thread, I have had to restart it, and the new one has taken only about 1 month.  Dont worry dude, itll be fine.  I just thought I'd try it out, but trust me it wont happen again.

    Sweet building so far, very impressive. Take as long as you need in my opinion, the longer it takes the better it will probably be.

    Alright, Im working on the night lights for the final release of the building (the one that is going to have individual window lights) and this is the preliminary preview of what I have now.

    just amazing. drools and drools and drools lol till i can't drool any more lol.

    the little deatals you show of the lighing so far are what will give this bat a biger boost txs for the hard work and i can't wait to have this in my city but as some plp say over and over take as long as nesary 44.gif44.gif
