bug A bug & a problem I haven't seen addressed yet

I just signed up for this forum and I only checked around a bit, but I couldn't find any discussion about this bug and problem I'm finding. First of all I only play in sandbox private mode with everything toggled off as I'm exclusively interested in building, not anything else. Therefore this may have an impact on this.

Here is my bug:

When I first create a city both right and left mouseclicks work for navigation but after about ten minutes I can no longer tilt the city, only navigate around it. I have to exit the game and re-enter it to reset it and then again only for another ten minutes or so.

Here is my problem:

I can't seem to find a way to determine where the oil and ore is while laying down roads. I have to keep switching between views which makes placing the roads so that I can plop my mining buildings a very long trial and error process.

As for larger city tiles and a completely "build-only" mode, IMHO it can't possibly come fast enough!

I keep the respective filter on either coal, ore or oil and draw a dirt road "marker" around the denser deposits. This way from the other views I can see where they are to avoid them when placing roads etc.

You may be Noobi-Wan, but I'm a total Noobi, so I don't understand how you do that.  Can you explain how to put on a filter so that you can draw roads at the same time? The way I see the underground deposits is to choose a mining building. Am I doing it wrong?

That is certainly one way of doing it but like you say would be a bit irritating long term and would need a lot of guess work!

Over in the bottom right of the screen under the bulldozer icon is a button that looks like it has a number of coloured squares stacked on top of one another.

When you click on this one it gives you access to all of the data layers in game. On the bottom of the selection list you will see coal, ore and oil icons (as well as trade and something else, I am not sure as doing this from memory). Clicking these will enter the data layer for the respective resource allowing the same view as if you were plopping a mine.

In this view you can draw roads around the resources. Have a play with the data layers because you can get loads of information like where the water table is, ground and air pollution, crime, etc as well as where your resources are.

    I hope this helps!

The tilt function that goes away in a few minutes is really driving me nuts. Any hope of fixing that?

Plus, let me add my voice to many:

PLEASE give us a fully sandboxed, fully solo, unlimited, larger tile size game as an option. Other players can play in groups and challenge themselves with all the arcane and complex details. For a solo player that just wants to build: There are way too many factors to juggle in this and it ceases to be fun and is just hard work.
