Andrew George: I'm glad you like your character! I agree that this young fellow is doing a pretty good job for his age (only 20!). He got the house mainly by luck; it was an old abandoned cottage and Andrew bought it for only 40.000 guilders (20.000 euro/dollar). With his small office doing so well, he could renovate the whole house, and now it's been added to Turtle Bay's monumental list. Soon it'll be worth ten times more!
Dannato: Thanks! I don't think I ever received such a big compliment Dannato!
Mikeaut1: You're right, you can do pretty amazing things with photoshop, but you can already increase the appeal of your pictures quite a lot with Irfanview as well. The river running through the woods-pic could have been modified with Irfanview as well. All you need to do is to play a bit with color balance (I reduced Red, and increased Green a lot, as well as a slight enhancement of the Blue teint). With Irfanview you can also make pics blurry, or sharpen them; finally I use the brightness/contrast settings a lot, as well as the greyscale option. If you want to see some REALLY amazing photoshop work, you should check the Chicago and Adelaide journals. Also check MrCinatits journals, because he's playing around a lot with filters and stuff. (I presume with Irfanview), and: Dannato's cj is brightened up a lot with PaintShop. Enjoy!
mayormommy: Yeah, you look cute, but I can assure you: appearances are deceptive (hmmm, didn't Shakespeare say something like this in MacBeth?).
ChicAgo333: Thank you! But don't downplay yourself, you've got a really outstanding journal, and you know it!!2.gif
Gizmos robot: Who said humans created the alien bases/cities? In fact, all this is still a big mystery, which is the reason president Vanderburg gave orders for a thorough NHID-investigation; if you study the pics of the alien city closely, you can see some human houses on them... well, your guess is quite close to the real thing... but I'm not going to reveal anything here! Btw, welcome to this journal!
Dark Avatar: Thanks for the nice compliment! I got the images of the characters from www.thesimsresource.com and I slightly modified them in MSPaint. Got the idea from MrBisonm's Nexis of Genesis, where he does the same. The lit trees on Burg Eiland are part of Peg's rivertool kit, and as you know they're not available anymore on the STEX. The fences by the railway are part of Marrast's roadside kit, or Marrast Walkways Stairs Set, which you can download here, https://www.simtropolis.com/lots/index.cfm?mode=files&filetype=all&Str=marrast  (the light-green grasstiles are also part of that) also check his latest roadside creation (uploaded today). Very useful!
Seville: Wow! thanks for the compliment, and I'm glad you like your character so far! And who knows about Renaud's thoughts on the Nature Party...

Chapter 3: The departure of Utora and the introduction of Basil Fawlty, Frosties, Dylan Sergio Hightower Francisco and Brian Allen

    Basil Fawlty (flrscf)

On the 12th of december NHE22, Andele woke up in his humble home in Arendal. Today was the great day! He would join the NHID and become a secret agent! Quickly he took a shower, put on some decent clothes and grabbed his luggage. He had to run to catch the bus to Arendal Station, from where he would jump on the train to Messelmonde.

Today one of his biggest dreams would be fulfilled: serving his country as an intelligence agent. Andele had to make some sacrifices though. His family was not allowed to ever see him again, nor hear any information about him. As a secret agent, you are SECRET; that means for the outside world you don

Thanks for the many replies everyone! You're right Andrew George: this journal is really taking off now!
Nijntje123: Thanks for the compliment! I hope NH will prove to be successful for a while!
flrscf: yeah, it takes quite some time to introduce everyone; and I'm glad you like it!
edgartamch: Thank you very much, and welcome to New Holland!
Mikeaut1: Thanks! You can download the Irfanview plugins at their site I believe; Good luck with it! And thanks for the compliment on the screenshots! I forgot to say, I also use the grassbeach mod, which also helps to create an awesome look
Mayor Tim: Wow! thanks for the compliment and the bunnies man!
London_Wyverns: What kind of introduction did you expect with such a dark character???9.gif
Frosties0258: I hope the findings are important too! I have a feeling that there's a lot about NH we don't know yet...
Abdrew George: Ugliness doesn't matter my friend... it's all in the character! 9.gif But you're right! I think MrCinatit answered your question himself already...
Simwario: You're welcome! And thanks for complimenting me! I try to make the story as gripping as possible!
ChicAgo333: Thanks for the nice compliment!
Dark Avatar: You too: thanks for the compliment!
Alkaola: Thanks! A lot of cj'ers use characters in their journals, but I wasn't aware of yours..yet. I love those canals too! In combination with Vanderaap's BATs it's now possible to create a very Dutch look! (Btw, I hope Kant01 will release his Dutch buildings soon!)
MrCinatit: Thanks for the inspiring words! And about Brian having a shot at Dr Riley... Can't say much about that right now, but have you watched Terry Gilliam's 12 Monkeys?
Dscampbell: Thanks for the compliments! And: the last four characters will be introduced soon (including yours)!
Woodman: Glad your double serving of New Holland tasted well!9.gif Private Snowball.... erhm.. Private Wood will soon be introduced in the last character-introduction-update

EDIT: Thanks a lot for voting for New Holand in the recent best-cj-poll (which was deleted so soon). I was just in time to see NH in the top3 with about 20% of the votes; after that the poll was deleted...

Wow...I've got to take my hat off to you again, utora.  Such a rich storyline, and such picturesque towns.  Personally I like the towns so small and low-density.  When expanding, don't lose that small-town feel!  Heh this CJ is becoming more of the Story of Small Cities than mine is =P

Always a pleasure to meet members of the Dannato clan in far-away parts of the world!  I must say I really like him: an ambitious, classy young man with an intriguing touch of mystery.  I just hope he'll climb up the ladder real quick, cause the digs where he dwells now are unworthy of a Dannato -- New World or not!  Anyway, he'll have my and the family's full support in anything he does.

44.gif Another great update, Utora.  The choice of Zeevaarders Paviljoen for the conference shows proof of good taste and class, too.

And take your time, we know it's an enormous amount of work and time you're putting in this.

Hell ya! It must take you a lot of time to prepare for an update! Again, awesome job on the canals winding through the cities, the night and sunset shots, the storyline of Dannato, DS Campbell...

    Unbelievable job!
