Hmmmm, tempting, tempting.

It was Open Monumentendag this weekend and I visited the house of the mayor of Amsterdam. That was so beautiful. Build in 1672 for a rich merchant of the West-Indian Compagny and since 1927 home for the mayor of Amsterdam. Beautiful view of the canals (Herengracht).

So it's obvious for me: I'm going for a career in politics!

i've been wavering between an athlete (baseball player), or alien hybrid - guess i have to chose one, so i will go with alien hybrid.

career: well, can't really make a career as an alien hybrid...so the choice is yours.

if you have plans for this, that would be great. if not, i would prefer more human than alien...in fact, this guy is a little reluctant of his alien heritage, and tries to hide it. unfortunately, parts of his body spontaneously turn into an alien part, usually at most inopportune times (job interviews, dates, etc.). however, i have a feeling you already have some plans for the alien hybrid, so i don't want to overstep my boundries.

 

thanks for the nod of inspiration...of course, my own inspiration comes from many (this one included), including the legendary Nexis journal. needless to say, if MrBisonm had not introduced users as characters, i'm sure few would have had the idea.

I can't see the pictures from update 2 (on the first page). I know it was a long time ago, but could you try reposting the pics because the journal is great but I don't want to skip that chapter!

Raindog: it's ok, your dudeness! I'll try to make up a nice story, although I don't want to interfere too much with politics. Right now it looks like there are three political parties in NH, one of which is quite elite, but not outspoken rightwing. The other two are a green party and a social one. I'll keep you informed. I have a question: do you have an image of your character I could use in my updates, as wallpapers or advertisements or something? (your head with the text: Vote for Raindog or something. Ooo... fabulous idea. Unfortunately, I can't really make up my mind about my profession - You already have politicians and an alien hybrid, I think I'd like to be both:  An alien hybrid in disguise who pretends to be an honest politician in New Holland, how about that?   If you have no use for that I'd be happy with some unimportant political post in the NH administration, I'll do anything as long as the bribes keep coming...

Well... I have been playing the drums for over 10 years! But I am musically talented with the drums, and I basically tought myself, even though I rely on a private teacher! I love playing rock and jazz on the drums. I have been thinking of making a band with some friends. Mainly Christian Rock! But in the story, you can do anything with my character, its your city journal and its all up to you!

AAARG I was so busy lately that I couldn't visit and leave a reply. Now Danato has beaten me to it Anyway, my sugestion was also to be an alien hybrid and mayor of Nederburg, but I could also be A Rich Industrial Alien Hybrid from Nijmegen, I bet you need a few hybrids for your story

I must say, I'm very impressed with Messelmonde. Very pretty!! Are you planning to link up all the canals?

OOHH and I love the Amsterdam Rotterdam parallel in Arenburg en Messelmonde!!! Great job! They just need some football teams (that's football for you american ppl, not that American Rugygame you play!!) lets see, what about Feyezuid and Achilles

First of all, thanks a lot for signing up!! I never thought there would be so much interest!

14 people have joined the story sofar, and I promise they will bring more life to the New Holland saga, even a personal touch. I must make an important acknowledgement here: PLEASE BE PATIENT. It requires a lot of time and precision to let you all make a worthy introduction into the story, and I guarantee that everyone will have his/her turn. However, I am extremely busy right now, with lots of hours to spend on studying, attending college, and working (in Holland you have to work also when you study, in order to be able to pay the university fees, books, rent of your room etc. I'll be busy for five days a week at least, so you can imagine that I won't have much time to update the story, since I have a social life also. But... of course I'll put as much time as possible in New Holland, because it's becoming a second part of my life, a creative outlet so to speak.. Hope you'll understand.

WOW! This is great Utora, I've finally reached the end of your journal so far (I've been reading a bit everyday for 4 or 5 days now!)

Name: Private Wood (MALE) recently joined the New Holland military. He supports Paul and wants to defend New Holland against any Alien threat. He looks forward to perhaps being one of the troops investigating the recently discovered Alien colony or perhaps working as a bodyguard for architects looking for ancient ruins (maybe extraterrestrial in origin). But of course the story is up to you!
