I have an issue with my roads and avenues being congested due to so many buses running in my city.

I know there is a mod out there to get rid of the buses, but I can't find it/don't know where to look.

Can someone help me? Please.

I don't know if that is possible. There are other solutions that might be helpful. You could set the maximum capacity for different road types higher using the Traffic Simulation Configuration Tool. You could also separate the congested roads of the others, this is only helpful if the bus traffic is high at borders. I have a bus stop close to the border of my city for example, this bus stop handles a lot of bus traffic because of the commute between the two bordering cities. I've separated this avenue (it was only used by busses) and I demolished all the crossroads, crossings often cause congestion. Since then I don't have congestion caused by busses.

Another mod that might be worth looking at is the Network Widening Mod, this way you could extend your existing network with more lanes without the loss of space.

Buses don't cause congestion any more than cars do.  However, if you're not using the NAM, the more congested your roads get (which happens very easily without the NAM), the more buses you'll get.  Are you using the NAM?  If not, that's what you need to do here.

because the tram stops are also bus stops I have a lot of buses running and hardly any trams. I am using NAM but am still getting the hang of it.

Keep learning.  There is a long learning curve.  You should walk before you try to fly, and I think using trams is probably a little early if you don't have much experience.  Try subways instead to get a handle on the congestion.

There are also tram stops that aren't bus stop, I usually use those ones to keep more control. This way you can easily decide where you're busses are going and where not. The same is the case with subway stations (some have bus stops and some don't). Reorganizing those tram stops would help a lot.

A common distribution of public transport types is subways in the high populated areas and especially the CBD. Elevated rail just outside and bus stops in the low density areas. Busses are very cheap and you could shorten the commute time significantly by using them in low density/low wealth areas.

I've only managed to get two tram stops to work properly in my game. both are also a bus stop. my city functions well with trams running, but because of the duel stops buses tend to run instead of trams. which is where the congestion comes from.
