New to 2013

OK, I've played SC4.  I've just seen pictures and video's of 2013.  Can we use any of the cool custom material from the STEX that we used in SC4??  How about the NAM?  I assume the answer to this is no. 

 

Also how do you all like 2013?  Is SC4 better?

No, none of the SC4 stuff will work. 

Simcity 2013 is total garbage, don't even bother looking into buying it.  Seriously, don't buy it, it only encourages EA's nonsense.

The games are completely different and not plugin-compatible.  There's been very polarized division over the game, some love it, many hate it.  There's plenty of screenshots and reviews here for you to look over and decide for yourself.

If you are getting Sim City 2013, wait until the next patch comes out. Patch 5 is just garbage. It made a not so good game into a Rage inducing horror!

 EA is proving themselves to be greedy and inapt. If I was to offer my advice on whether or not to purchase this game, ID NOW SAY NO. The initial investment of $60 dollars seemed fair enough, but after downloading the game digitally and discovering that it is now only online play and that they are selling DLCs to make more profit.... where does this vicious spending circle end? The idea on spending more and more money each time you want to stay "caught up" is ludicrous.

 

I had originally decided to buy after watching a utube vid..... in this video this person had the coolest looking city and was able to change the texture colors of the buildings at will.... What makes this option available? OR is that just another DLC?   After I started install, I was then notified that my video card wasn't good enough.... Nvidia GeForce 9200..... plays anything else..... so when u add it all up

$50 a month internet bill

infinite amt of DLCs ranging from 10-20

+new video card

 

mental anguish when u realize you wasted valuable time and money= PRICELESS!

It is a good game but not without its flaws. I pre-ordered and still play, including having a majority of the DLC content. It is a good game to just play casually, as that is how I play. A few hours here and there.

I find this new SimCity to add some nice new features:

 

• Partnering with other regional players for Great Works and chat
• Specializations - Electronics, Mining, etc.
• Downloadable DLC (I like the Amusement Park!)

Simcity 2013 is a lot of good ideas marred by an over-obsession with multiplayer and region play.
