One thing I noticed is that when I unpack the file it reads SWAP 2.2 and not 2.3 is this right?

I beg you people please help me make my game stop crashing. It even crashes if I try to use the grass lots in default maxis regions. What's up with this?

gmavignier, i replyed to you in my journal, as i saw your questions there first. but to sum it up:

    1. redownload the package and try to boot up the game with nothing but SWAP installed, this should cause the game not to crash at all, since the package is fully compatible with SC4:RH. however there may be other items you have downloaded from STEX that intefere with them.

    2. Once you have confirmed that it is indeed working when installed allone, start adding the plugins in small batches, and name the folders so you know which ones are new untill you find the batch that causes the crash. once you have found that start removing them one at a time to root out which one is faulty.

    3. if you downloaded the packages later than December 05 you should be allright, unregarding what numbers show where.

Im 99% it is a conflict with another plugin, did you read the readme? there are a few plugins noted to be disasterous with this pack.

As the rest of the posts in this tread notes.

The SWAP works for me and is great fun for this old gamer/pilot, based on one day's experience with it.  *tips wing*  There are a few minor things that could be "improved," which I would do myself if I knew how.  So I guess after all the PC user crashing issues have been addressed and there's give-a-s*** time available by some one who knows how, here's a few things that could be looked at in the next release:

    • The prefab runways can't level/flatten the terrain.  Although most real runways have some slope, it's not natural to see runways humped over hilly ground.  Real aircraft don't respond well to this situation.  Not a show stopper, if you've picked your location for an airport logically and know how to use the God-mode terraforming tools and can live with collateral damage to any surrounding structures.  This seems to be true of other tiles, like the pre-fab terminal+gate  tiles.  Maybe mention this in the Readme.
    • Mentioned earlier, the blue mouse-over arrow for placement of some ground parts is a little confusing.  My fix was to plop tiles for up, right, down, and left as a template on a free area to use as a reference.  You need this especially for lighting.  I have no suggestion on how to improve this, perhaps just pick a consistent/intuitive direction for what is the "front" (arrow) of the tile.  For lighted tarmac, maybe have the arrow point to lighted edge.
    • Related to the above, the Security Center will be plopped backwards if you consider the mouse-over arrow to be the "front," like other SC4 stuff.  The rear fence faces the street, etc.  However, it works and I haven't seen anycomplaint about vehicle access.  I'd just like to see the graphic rotated 180 degrees.  This seems to be true of the Tram center as well.  The front has a tarmac appearance and the back has a street access look.
    • In the real world (remember that place?), runway edge lights do not blink and taxiway edge lights are blue, not green, and also don't blink.

Anyway, I'm very glad the SWAP is available and has so much to offer the game.  Again, another wing tip for all who have contributed and made this thing possible.

Edit Hmmm, BB code trouble I guess42.gif

I think it's not the right place to ask something like that. If you want to know about their location, ask them
