How do you control pollution?

I'm in a pickle. I have no solution for pollution (hehehe, it rhymes) I have tried to make many gardens, gardens with gardens in them! I then added hundreds of trees in a very dense area through out my pollution/residential border. I DO NOT WANT TO USE MODS. I need to have a good commute too. Please help because it is getting ANNOYING!

Pollution is annoying. What I do is have my Dirty and Manufacturing Industries and any other Air Pollution generating things in small sections, surrounded by trees. I also try to get education levels up quickly so that High Tech becomes king of industry. As for the inner city areas... Its harder to avoid pollution on the heavily used roads.
