I obviously have not been into SimCity 4 for the last past 8 years, but every time I come back, there's always something amazing going up or something. The NAM 31.1 for starters, and even a few months ago, there was a weather mod that takes advantage of faster computers. Sometimes it's good BATs, sometimes it's something else. But you guys have taken a game EA has given up on years ago and turned it into one of the most expansive computer games of our era. I wanted to give a shout-out to those who took the plunge and expanded the game by themselves.

Thank you.

I echo your sentiments, LivingInThePast.  The modders and the BATers have made SC4 a truly spectacular game.

That's the beauty of SC4... making stuff for the game... is the game... for so many.  This game has a limitless potential future because of this fact.

Thank you everyone who contributes to the game in any form.

In fact, the NAM is a piece of work by itself. I still remember when it wasn't much more than a patch to fix the broken traffic simulator. And look where it is now.

Well, while we are throwing kudos around let's not forget Will Wright and the original Maxis team who wrote such a beautiful but flawed base that allows us to work with it.  The kernel of the game may have been abandoned after EA bought Maxis out, but what they built makes all this possible.  So a big bouquet to the original development team

And a few brickbats to whoever abandoned the program when known problems showed up.

And for everyone who has contributed to the custom content, even a little, a general thanks to all, and especially to those whose specialized work in some areas has produced such a wonderful gaming/problem solving experience.

I also want to give a shout out to all the modders that make building for more than just CO$$$. It's hard to satisfy demand for CS$$ and CS$$$ sometimes. Lets face it, maxis buildings don't have high job capacities. So it's nice to be able to plop a building from time to time to help reduce the demand!!!

i couldn't agree more. i've added about 3 gigs worth of add-ons so far.

the only drawback is my cities aren't developing, because i keep getting distracted by downloading more content. so, a big thanks to all the developers from around the world, all the people who pay for the webhosting - thanks for making it impossible for me to stay focused...lol

Poor fellow.  I hope you've got them well organized.  This disease eventually provides its own immunity.

Then it's time to take action my friend. There are a bunch of gorgeous BATs waiting for you to reassign them in CS$$ or whatever you see fit :)
