Wow, TMS and I were reminiscing over 3.0... such a great time during the life of Simtropolis! I was only there for half of it (I registered in June 04) but yea.. thanks Cheese for that little memory refresher! 2.gif

Anyway, on the trixie side of things... most of my nominations are in... if the time comes to nominate more people, I most certainly will. Right now I'm thinking of who else to nominate! 31.gif

Edit -- Page 9?!? 42.gifWOW! 29.gif

Welcome to Page 9 of the Trixie Thread! 35.gif

I remember 3.0. 48.gif It seems like a long time ago now doesn't it?? All those others as well who've moved on to other things...

Certainly brings back pangs of nostalgia. 15.gif

I also remember very well 3.0, it was just about a year ago when the site upgraded to version 4.0. So weird to think that's what it looked like 18.gif

Hello,

This gave me a good idea, what about if Simtropolis had a history page charting from the birth of the site, like the story of the SimCity?

I just finished my nominations, I just wanted to know, when does the nominations close, just to remind everyone?

Hello again,

Just found the closing date, never mind. It does however look quite concealed.

EDIT: I forgot: when is the Golden Llama Awards ceremony?

EDIT (again!): Oh no, I got the punctuation wrong!... whew, fixed it now.

EDIT (once again!): Another spelling mistake! Fixed, once again.

What ever happened to the city name generator. More on the Trixies subject: I can't wait for the 'Envelope Please'ing. Thats gotta be the most exiting part.

Or in other words the Golden Llama Awards Ceremony of 2005. 18.gif

The city name generator was deleted back when Simtropolis turned 4.0. I always used to like to play around with that thing, until one day I noticed it was gone. Oh well. It was fun while it was here! 48.gif

Okay Timotheous I'll call, what's the relationship between The Trixies and Premillenialism?
quote>

Don't you see in the Kings and Queens of Custom Content awards? Best Pre-Millenium Building? 28.gif Dirk I had thought better of you.

Incidentally, there is a glaring error in the banner. The Third Annual 2005 Trixie Awards. Does that mean we're having the 2005 Trixie Awards for the third year in a row?

hmm . . .

Best Pre-Millennium Building
This award is for BAT

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis

Best Pre-Millennium Building

This award is for BAT’s belonging to pre-Modern buildings, supporting the use of complex and decorative styles, with emphasis on worldly history, pin-pointing an exact time many years ago.

and the problem here is what exactly? 42.gif
quote>

Are you asking us? I'd say that the problem is in the award's title, it should be pre-modern, not pre-millennium, seeing as how this millenium just started.

By pre-millemium, they mean pre-2000.

Hello again,

The millenium has been quite recent, but I have a thought that this thread is going off track...

Indeed, it must be stump the staff time.  I understood the religious reference before getting the architectural meaning while others apparently got the architectural referrence first.  46.gif

Regardless, even though feedback is welcome for future improvements & our Community's Membership features some of the smartest people on the Internet, staying on subject would be a good thing.

As for the banner, there's nothing wrong with it.  I've seen the Academy Awards marketed that way also.

Just to clarify once and for all  the Pre-Millenium Building debate:

The funny thing is that almost any building on the STEX can now be considered pre-millenium. Any real-world, or real-world style building would be considered in that category, somewhat limiting the categories ability for uniqueness. A better title to fit the purpose would be something such as Best Historic Building or, for a lengthened name Best Building Emulating an Architectural Style Typical of Strctures Built Before 1900.

I can't stop thinking about the Trixies. I can't wait til it's over (Not the 'Please end' feeling when you watch awards on TV) -- I just want to know who wins. Like when you watch a movie.

It will be revealed at the same time as the ceremony, which hopefully, will be on the day after the closing date, only if the Admin(s) can set it up fast enough!

Guys, guys, I wouldn't expect anything by the next week and definitely not a day after the 21st (The day voting ends). The admins need to go over all the votes, add them up and Dirk needs to set up the winning page so don't rush anything.

For anyone having trouble figuring out whom to nominate in the CJ categories, I've updated the Reader's Guide (see my sig) to include the major 2005 CJs. Although even I nominated at least one CJ not on that list. 2.gif

No, the millenium started approximately 1970 years ago. (Wavering between amil and post mil here.)

To those who don't get it, don't worry, and back to the topic. 18.gif
