Expanding a Region

Hi everyone, this is my first thread on ST. Here's to a long and enjoyable time with you all!

 

I'm planning on creating a region using Terraformer. I'm wondering if it's possible to expand (add more city tiles) a region after building in it? Also, will this keep all my progress, or will I have to begin building all over again?

 

I used the 'Search' bar but to no avail. :/

Basically, once you've created a region, that's it.  Of course, you could always create a bigger region and then import the cities from your smaller region into it.

You can't expand an already existed region. You must restart the region from 0 if you want to do such thing, IMO.

 

Sorry everyone, in true new-guy way I accidentally posted this to the wrong thread haha. I have a new question...how do you delete a thread you created? 

If you are not a staff of this site, you can't do that. You can ask a staff of this site to move your thread to the right section however.

If you are willing to add cities to the bottom and right hand sides of the config.bmp you could get more real estate, but I don't know if Mapper/Terraformer can then be used to terraform these.  Once you start building you may be stuck.

Yes, I'm afraid this isn't possible without wiping the entire region.

 

However, as z1 said, you could always create a new region and edit the config.bmp to increase the size. This also allows the individual city sizes to be defined (small, medium or large tiles). Then in the new region, the cities from your old region can be imported, by clicking the Import City icon, as shown below:

 

Remember, you can only import cities into tiles of the same size. So it might be worth taking this into consideration when customising the config.bmp file

(located inside your SimCity 4 > Regions > City Name folder).
