Hi wolf,

 

I'm trying to use your tool to change my game's language to spanish. I run the program, select the language it downloads the locale, but, when the download gets to 100 % the program just crashes. I tried to run it as administrator, and I checked the registry. Hope you can help me.

the solution is  this copy the rar that download the great program that make wolf

unrar the download and copy the foldee whatever  are your lenguaje and copy in the path   E:\JUEGOS\TPTB-SCDE.WUP10\SimCity\SimCityData\Locale\HERE  

because much players copy the file in E:\JUEGOS\TPTB-SCDE.WUP10\SimCity\SimCity\Locale  and that no is the path 

trust me is work  and if you dont want edit register put into  the folder of the original lenguaje the Data.package

I can't get this to work. When I try to apply the registry fix I get an error for the .reg file about that I can only import binary registryfiles from the regedit. And when I try to launch the Simcity languagepatch I get the error: "Error in getting registry information." If i press the 1 number I get the error: "Error in initializing Simcity Object". What am I doing wrong?

The purpose of the tool is not to extract and replace files.

 

The tool works independently - in it's own folder.

 

You got this message because you replaced the file ... You need the original data.package file for your locale .. Run my tool, select your locale of choice .. Done ..

 

You do NOT need to run this tool in any "SimCity" folder .. You can run it on your desktop - but I would recommend running it inside the folder that it is in when you extract it. Anyone claiming that it should run inside a SimCity folder or that you should replace locales is wrong .. If you do not own a SimCity with a selectable language equal to the one you wanted it will not run when you replace the files and get the message like you did.

 

Tool is not manual. It's supposed to be automatic.

Been working on this one all day, and I still call it 0.1, because I want some feedback on user-errors before I give it a decent version-number.

Instructions:

None, it's as easy as extracting the folder and let the tool do all the hard work for you

In some cases shutting down SimCity and/or Origin (and maybe even rebooting) might be necessary or running the patcher as Administrator (to gain access to Program Files)

 

Knows Issues:

• Wrongly typed ZHTW (Chinese) locale, it appears as "Espanol" lol, a little quick with adding the locales I will update this minor typo in a later release as soon as more bugs are fixed and more features are added.
• If the tool keeps failing with "Error in enumerating/patching locale resources." the locale file might have been corrupted in rare cases. Use the tool again, select your original (Install) locale. It will fail again, but don't worry. In the SimCityLanguagePatch folder it will have created a 7z file with your original locale. Open this up, extract the Data.package file and put it in "C:\Program Files (x86\Origin\Origin Games\SimCity\SimCityData\Locale\pl-pl\" or whatever your install location is. Overwrite the file, run the tool again and hopefully this time it will succeed.
• Extracting inside SimCity or SimCityData folder causes "Product Code Not Redeemed", because Locale files overlap - Solution: Extract it in stand-alone folder, it will find your SimCity install directory automatically.
• Opening SimCity and displaying * * * dialog box and missing text: Be sure to close my patcher properly (check Task Manager for SimCityLanguagePatch.exe) and try restarting SimCity.
• Cracked/Pirated/Torrent SimCity - You need to apply a registry fix for it to work ... ()

Future Releases / Roadmap:

• Patching in-game locale, banners, "Welcome to SimCity" message. (I already know where to do this)
• Months and dates in the language of choice (Like in Expenses, Updater (Community News), Population menu)
• Hopefully challenges and region-wall and citylog locale transition as well.
