No traffic, no unemployment, but still no money

I don't get it. My whole city is low wealth at the moment. There are currently 18436 workers and 24941 jobs, so they all have work. There are also 9218 shoppers and 11945 goods, so they all have shopping. My current approval rating is 59%, mainly because the workers are so unhappy. Current status:

[Green] Happy about shopping

[Red] We need money

[Yellow] Too many injuries (they always seem to have this, there are no past deaths on the map though)

There's no traffic. While I also don't have public busses, that shouldn't be necessary as long as there's no traffic. And by no traffic I mean I barely see any yellow and never see any red.

Any ideas on what could be causing this?

That does seem odd. If work is too far away for some people to travel taht could be a problem, but if you have no traffic I would find that unlikely. Sometimes it does take a while for changes to kick in. If businesses are new then some people can have been complaining from not having work before the shops were built.

Injuries are different with death. If you have low education then your people will injure themselves more often (and set more fires as they are too dumb to work a stove). Do you have enough ambulances and room in your clinic? Look at how many injuries/day are being treated vs the total number.

Man my city is fucked. I have 3 clinics, current capacities are 37, 34 and 28. Not patients being treated, capacity o_O

My city's one long road, so I just modified it so there are some turn around spots. Think it looks pretty badass now, still one long road.

I'll see if this gets everyone to go to work. That clinic thing is still messed up though.

Just updated the title to be more clear. My city currently has no traffic and no unemployment, but I still have a terrible approval rating and buildings being abandoned because the workers have no money.

That layout won't work.  You won't have much traffic, but it takes everybody to long to get anywhere even if they are in a car.

Without been able to see your zoning, I can only say you do not have enough employment. You have 7 factories, one power plant and the garbage.

Also the long road is too long. Consider that a household needs to to go work, shops & park in a single day. (24h). If they fail to do so they become unhappy.

On one of the most gridlocked city ever had, and didn't had such issues, with 85% happiness. And at -22000 with 127k population, you either have no tax income, or you have no jobs.

Which I believe is the later.

The above gridlocked city I mentioned, was running at 4k deficit, but had 3 coal mines, 2 ore mines, 2 small & 1 large trade depots (with sea & rail connections), 2 coal power stations, 2 smelting factories, univercity, college, 1 big sewage plant, 1 big water plant, 3 fire stations, 2 police stations, 2 hospitals, 2 garbage and recycling. Trade HQ, Metal HQ, all upgrades to Town Hall,  8 upgrades on Mansion. All upgraded fully. Plus around 30 parks and of cource factories.

At 135k population, 9% tax and only had 4k deficit, while the traffic is kinda bad.

Started last night restructuring the city, and going to boost more population and lower the traffic by using the 2x1 squares system. Dropped the population to 76k, still only -11k deficit, while happiness moved to 86% suprisingly.

I dunno. It seems to be better since I added the points (places to turn around). I timed it and it takes about an hour to drive along the longest part. So if you're on the longest part and need to get to a place right behind you, that's 2 hours. Worst case it shouldn't take more than 4 hours to get anywhere, which isn't actually all that bad for this game.

One large factory is about 1500 jobs, dense shops are like 600.

I don't know if that's true about the working and shopping. Looking at the details tab, it seems that workers and shoppers are separate sims, so each sim only has to go to work or shop. For now I'll remove my one park to make sure they aren't going to it. If my estimate of 4 hours worst case is correct, they should definitely not run out of money at least at this point.

The income is because I had 250 criminals at one point, on the right you can see a police precinct with maxed cop cars and detectives. I also have 2 stations with maxed cops. Now I'm down to 40 and I can probably turn off the precinct soon.

Check your happiness data layer and find the R that is complaining about no money. Then,at 6am, follow the people out of the house and see what happens. Check to make sure they actually find a job.

By saying zero unemployment, I assume you mean the population chart shows more jobs than workers. Please be aware that this does not mean that every worker is actually making it to work. That chart is not a running tally of Sims that are actually working. It only shows the maximum jobs available.

I'm on my phone, so I can't post the link, but check my old posts in my profile. I have a link to some guy's video explaining the difference between unemployment and "unemployment".

Ya I know the details don't mean they actually make it to work. So I looked at one of the buildings that was having problems, it has zero cars leaving it, everyone walks. I followed one of the people and she went down the street towards her job. When she got to the building it was full, so it said she was fired and she went to the nearest residence...

Now is this because I don't have public transportation? I was under the impression that every working sim had a car, is that just wrong?
