Ok well the biggest problem is your texturing. We will start with the tower. It looks like you have a texture running all the way up the side of the tower and you used no geometry to make the windows and the top utility floor. So here is what i suggest. Pull all those textures off and start modeling all the windows and the window trim aswell as the sky lobbies and the top utility floor. Then once you have that modeled texture the windows with a few different shades to make it look more reflective. Then you can texture the trim and stuff. Also it looks like you have some real solid modeles for the other 2 buildings but they still need alot more details and you need to again concentrate on texturing. It seems your not using textures that repeat very well they are 2 noticable. And what happened to the dome ontop of the other building it seem to be missing in your model. And lastly as for the lot you will want to spend more time designing the lot to match the real layout and not just grass.

Thanks for the suggestions, I said that it needs lots of work so don't worry, this was my first ever to be BAT, and I left it out for abit but now I'm planing on releasing it as a really good quality building, so thats why I need lots of advice from anyone who can 9.gif

I think Joerg hit the nail on the head. You've done some fine work, it just needs some attention to detail and some work with the texturing and I think this will be a great BAT.

    My advice:
    Tower:
-You can see the texture pattern tiling. When you create a texture for a large face like that, take a screen shot of the model from whatever view you are texturing. Use Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro (free) to cut and paste elements from those actual UN pictures to create a new texture that will fit in one tile across the face of the building.

    Other buildings:
-coloring - Colors should really be more desaturated and darker. Remember that you are looking at a city from 10,000 feet so haze should make everything look a little duller. Bright colors (especially white) tend to stand out in the game and give BAT building the appearance of 'glowing'.

-Texturing - Even for monochromatic buildings, texturing fine 'noise' and variations in coloring will give your building depth and prevent them from looking 'plastic'. You can even use textures cut from your reference pics.

    ALL
-Details - What makes a building or any 3D model stand out is details - small and large. Recessed doorways, HVAC equipment, awnings, light fixtures. All these little things help to give a model depth.

    post-2-1089229697.jpg

I need a texure of one window in the same types of color like above, maby a few brighter and darker so that they won't all look the same...

I would make them myself but I'm not any good at making texures, so if anyone has any post them here...

That building looks too short, so don't forget to make the building about 125% of the real building's height.

Actually, I'd say it looks about the right height as it is.

I'll see if I can dig up some good pictures of the U.N. compound.

Just one question, are you planning to create all the buildings as seperate lots?

First off all the hight is more or less ok, In the newer version that I'm making now I'd expect the hight perfect, and for how I'll release the building I'm not sure, I think I'll make one big lot and also each building seperate all in one version

Thanks, the color is good but it is not right for the UN, it should be more like one main color a texure and a total of two or three texures, if anyone knows how to create them let me know

Here are some window textures that could help. There are three types of proposed windows; fully openned, half-openned and fully closed. I've also included two different shades of colour for the window blinds, one darker and the other, lighter:

I haven't exactly found any decent shots of the roundabout, but I found something close to that: Linky

Also, I've found a floor plan of the entire UN compound. See it here .
