So is the game playable yet or no?

It's almost 4 days after release and I'm wondering if it has gotten significantly better or is it as bad as it was on launch day (or perhaps even worse)? I am not just talking about being able to connect to a server or not being disconnected from one but the multiplayer features like region play, resource sharing, etc.

I played for 24 hours nearly straight. Yes it is MUCH better. I did get a ton of disconnects while in the game but was not booted, after some time it just reconnected while I kept playing, hardly noticeable except for the alert in the upper left corner.

My experience tonight:

Took 1 hour to finally get onto a server. All the servers that reported available were not. I finally made it onto the "busy" NA West 1 server.........

Sandbox wasn't working for my existing city (I'll probably have to claim a new one to get it to work) - disasters were on and the cheats were not working

However, even after leaving the game idle for 1 hour, I still received th "your city isn't sync'ed" message when exiting - so I wonder if all my progress was saved.....I guess I'l find out in the morning.

Ok... so it is basically still a trainwreck? Not surprised in the least.

I just booted up and logged in with not a single issue to provide a screenshot that I just posted in the thread I linked. Try Europe West 1, that's where I have been playing without issue for the last day.

I've been playing for about 6 hours with no problems at all.  Just a little laggy.  And when I say "a little laggy" I mean that it's not that bad.  Trust me, I hate lag, but this is manageable.

two friends of mine bought it and told me that there is a big hype, and the game is boring as hell, a total disaster. One of the got it from Amazon and got a refund. All your effort will be saved on their servers, when they decide to close the servers, all your efforts are gone, don't waste your time on this one. I personally thought buying it, but as you can see, I won't.

I have yet to talk to a single person who has played for hours who dislikes the game, I guess there's always the exception. I have however seen the majority of people who have not played it talk about how bad it is, or go as far as pretended they have played it just to make an issue about the DRM.

If you don't want to see the series continue, don't buy it. It's just that simple. For me the $60 will easily justify the YEARS of entertainment I get out of it even if they do shut it down.

How much are they paying you to promote this train wreck, as you seem to be everywhere singing how wonderful everything is..

Why would I not promote a game that I think is awesome? Sorry you feel threatened that some people really enjoy the game and you'd rather they hate it because you don't like the DRM.

Its been working for me the last day, but region play cheetah speed are not working, region play not working is a deal breaker for me now as the tiles are so small all I have left is to build other cities and play the region,

How is the game boring? You know what a city builder is right? It's no more boring then any other SC, even less so with all the micro managing you can do. Yes the server issues were horrid, but they are pretty much fixed at this point......................

Same with Cacthin, today is a lot better gameplay experience for me (as compared with yesterday). I can log in with just single try and play all along for 3-4 hrs.

As far as I can tell, the game play is good. You simply have to get out of your mind over the small tile size, problems with regional play at this point, don't gift money between cities, loss of cheetah speed, some of the pathing bugs, some of the graphic bugs, ok man this list is getting long.

There is a solid core here and the server experience is getting better. I just can't believe it is going to take them a full week to get the servers sorted. And why is there only 4 NA servers but 7 europe... it's probably because all the NA people have left the NA servers for the europe ones that seem to work better :P

If the issue was simply a load issue - why can't they click the little button to fire up another Amazon EC2 on the highest settings, install their server software, test and launch. That can' take more than a couple hours and the spend on a new EC2 would have saved them thousands in bad publiciity and refunds/charge backs
