    ah, well yes, there's that, but it seems to be a trend on simtropolis these days, so i thought i'd go with it, but in winnipeg? this thing is 33% higher than the td, eaven 40%! we're not there yet! and yellow in winnipeg, i d... well, it does represent the great canadian prarie, could maybe work, still too tall for winnipeg, perfect for lasvegas, though!

    The MailQuick Building


    MailQuick has gone up the ranks in package delivery services... and is about to make a move on the ever-present UPS.  To do this, the company managers decided to construct impressive headquarters as a statement to the commercial world: ' ...41.gif...  ...34.gif... ...23.gif... ...24.gif...'



    Oh, well, umm, they haven't really chosen their slogan yet...



    ANYWAYS here is the start on the ... a CDI_spy design... as you can see, the basic shape is done... looking to delve into the 'important details' as phillipbo's tutorial calls them... making each basic box or cylinder a bit more textured the 3d way, like carving out windows, overhangs, little side corners... stuff like that.

    hey! spy! something just occured to me, make a MailQuick shop and build it in the shape and textured in the liking of a delivered package! dude, that would be awsome!

    eeeeh, yerse, thse pics are a little out of whack, the lot's facing the wrong way, but looks ok, good preview, have to adjust the textures on the back of the large triangluar-ish section and work some more on the model, but apart from that, its going ok

    nice umm i sujest you make it so that your round spear thingy is the main entrince to the building.... not in the back as it sticks out like that

    i added a small entrance with car access on the side of the atrium, texture of the pavement really sucks, i know, i am planning on creating my own, which would make it (the whole dam building) look muc better.

    Aren't I? like geez, ure not a normal guy ureself! can't take a normal guy to bat, can you? ure as weird as i am, spy, don't deni it! like geez, what books did u take from the library? Biology of Star Trek or something like that?

    w/e, movin off from a discussion that should be on off topic on to BATing.

    yes, i have trouble with the roof section, i don't want to add glass, that would seem silly, maybe a staircase roof would be more appropriate, and if anyone can come up with a good driveway texture (more like the black tar-ish stuff they use nowadays) that would be great! thanx, i won't forget to mention u on the building description on the STEX.  thanks for ure input, ajs! (any more ideas for the slanting roof?)

    could put roof patios on all thoughs little roofs
    could have a atrium bitween the 2 towers or a sky walk

    how about you put stairs that run down the midle of the slanted roof

    you idea of the stair style roof could be used and put patios on the roofs of thoughs

    if you can give me a perfect side views images i could draw in some ideas for ya in photo shop....

    how about an elevator going up the slanted roofs of both towers? could that work? i'm going to try it as soon as i can, thanks for the inspiration, ajs!

    sorry, i can't, we (SYM Productions) have already tried that, it's that simcity takes a picture of the building itself, you need a mod to make things move, even then, cars are just pictures that move around, sorry dude, simcity makes it impossible!

    ya, they're pretty good these ideas, ill try to incorporate them in the , but don't expect them on this , i'm gonna need to experiment on these new components.

    I know its still in alpha so that's prolly why the textures are bad, I do have some suggestions use edit mesh, select polygons and start by selecting certain faces you deem to have a certain texture on it, scroll down and input ID to 1, 2, 3 and keep track which ones with have texture ID 1, and which ones texture ID 2 and so on.

    Step 2: Create a Multimatieral texture, insert desired bmp or matierals into the corrisponding IDs, When you are ready to go slap it on and adjust values from the Material Editor not the UMV mapping. Also it would be good to go ahead and make the umv mapping BOX, and change the box size to 10x10x10. That way everything is uniform in each direction.
     
    I rarely do this, but seeing that you have some very large objects you can break them down and texture them in a more creative fashion. I did this with Manhattan Heights (didn't know if you seen the building) and I was able to put several different textures onto the same object.
     
    If this is still a pain (which it can be), select the faces you want to be different (in edit mesh: polygons), and DETACH them as a new object. It comes in very handy sometimes. I like the model so far but the shape and design is might make it tricky when it comes to texture time. Hope this helps.

    That yellow is a little too bright. Age it a little and/or add some nice details to the glass to make it shadowed and detailed.

     
    I know it's a fictional building... Still needs a little something.

    heres a random office building ive made, its not fully finished and there are some details i need to update but... yea!

    as you can see this is really not ready for upload just yet but its just a preview!

    Before I sent this Version of the mill off to be rendered I would like to know what you all think of the Bat. I do have one or more things to add to the bat but otherwise its about done.
