diablo_del_bano replied to derwilly's topic in Cities XXL Technical Issues
5 months ago I got a Toshiba with a Core 2 Duo T6600, Nvidia GT230m with 1GB dedicated ram, and 4GB DDR3 for $700 -

I'm just not going to buy it. That's not to say that I won't find a way to play the game, but until they stop this Planet Offer nonsense, Monte Cristo certainly won't see any of my simoleans.

Actually, my Uncle's 360 played my Halo and Forza discs just fine
-
All of the consoles are too expensive for me to justify buying, because I personally would much rather spend that money upgrading my PC, a machine that does games AND just about everything else. Also, I still can't decide between a PS3 and a 360. They both have the same number of games that I would like. The price of the 360 is tempting, but the fact that online play is free on a PS3 is equally tempting. Plus with a PS3 I can connect to my PSP and do other cool stuff. On the otherhand, I have heard that a PS3 pretty much sucks unless you have an HDTV, which I don't (unless you count my PC monitor) I know I want a Wii, but I'm waiting for the price to drop to at least $200, preferably lower (keep in mind that I bought my Gamecube when it was $99, and my Xbox when it was $150) Alll in all, untill prices get lower, PSP, DS and PC ftw!

American dominance to end by 2025 - US report
diablo_del_bano replied to Aontan's topic in Current Events
I don't think this means that the future is bleak for the US. I mean, look at the EU. -
Do you have Destinations installed? I had SCS running fine on my old computer, but once I installed Destinations, the whole thing would grind to a halt. Destinations works fine on my new PC though. I should probably add that PC's specs: Pentium D 2.67Ghz, 2GB of DDR 3200, BFG Nvidia 5200 250MB/280Mhz

I've been enjoying SCS and it's expansion! While I do think that the kinds of societies could be expanded (like maybe some societies being created with two or more of the types rather than just one) I think it is still quite enjoyable. All I need are bigger maps so I can have more time in the game! I see alot of people here who really hate this game, but what about the non-haters? I know I'm not the only one.

Liberty City IN GTA4 LOADS Of Pics LC VS NY

You know, you could make this fit by trying to re-create Liberty CIty in SC4. I actually had hoped this WAS a recreation, as I would like to see it. -
The US's most pathetic highways
diablo_del_bano replied to Duke87's topic in Architecture & Urban Planning
first one is I-75 northbound just north of Downtown Dayton. it does this weird and dangerous sharp 90-degree turn, and as a result the speed limit is temporarily 40, making it a bottleneck at rush hour. Next, most of I-65 in Nashville. The whole thing is a convoluted series of splits and merges with other Interstates and highways all meandering through the VERY hilly metro area. Nashville is beautiful, but absoulte hell to drive in, especially at rush hour. Oh, and trying to change lanes near the Galleria is JOY. Lastly, the I-75 river crossing in Cincinnati deserves a mention. It can be terrible, especially just off the bridge on the Cincinnati side. I think half of the times I've crossed that bridge northbound have ended in a huge jam. This is when I start hunting for the boarded up old subway entrances Then again, pretty much any US city can be hell to drive in at rush hour. Seriously, if only more people were enlightened to the merits of mass transit and cycles... -
