Lost my cars :(

HI there, I DL'd something into my SimC 4, and suddenly lost my cars, and some people.. all went invisible.. game tells me I need "Plugin 1039265269 (no idea what that is) and apparently it is not on my machine, please help, I want the vehicles back

It could be your graphic setting. But, we need more detail information. What OS are you using? Your GPU? Your game version?

Move the new plugin(s) to a folder on your desktop and test again.  Is the game OK?

I do stil have the traffic probs, the cars are there, just invis., I am running W7, and just uninstalled it, think it is bugged, oddly, when I start the game, they show, but slowly disappear, I found and deleted all the files I had DL'd the night before, but still didn't do anything, I will try a re-install, .. still don't know what 1039265269 is, and I tried looking for it on STEX, and nothing comes up

Maybe you should try running the game in 32-bit graphics. This game doesn't actually programmed to be running in Windows7 nor in Laptop, it's a 10 years old game. It can however, but there will be more glitches and bugs. It fit perfectly in XP.

Have you tried installing the mod?  I wonder if maybe that would correct the problem.

I have this same problem bro. Just go to the U Drive it mode, when the countdown clock gets to zero, hit escape and the cars will be back.

This means that you're missing something important.  Did you make sure you DL'd all the dependencies of the file that caused all this?

OK.  Facts time.  What is the version of the game?  Locate the SimCity 4.exe file and hover your mouse over it.  Post the version string it reports.  For a fully operable game you need to be at 1,1,640 or greater.

I bought the SIM City Box, with Deluxe, Rush Hour and so on... cars are there if I zoom in low :s... still not sure why this is happening, and all I find are .dat files

To find your version use windows explorer (file system) to find the file SimCity 4.exe.  Hover your mouse over it and it should report the version string.  If not right click on it and open the properties panel.  Switch to the version tab and read it out.  Then please post it here.  You may need some fixing.

Yep.  Answered in your PM.  However, you do need the published updates or you cannot use any of the custom content here.  Also, without the EP1 update you are playing with a lot of bugs.

 

First register here.  It is free.

 

Then open the site and scroll down to the EA Support button on the left.  Click it, and, after accepting the agreement, go on to the official update frame for Rush Hour/deluxe.  Follow the instructions carefully.

 

Then go to the Building Architect Tool (BAT) page and download the update for 1,1,640,0 only.  You don't need the BAT.

 

If you look around in this area, you may also want to get the Lot Editor, but it is not mandatory.
