Non-"Western" Simcity 4 Cities and Buildings

I've noticed that the majority of city journals bear resemblance to European cities (not that there is anything wrong with that) and the few exceptions are Japanese, Middle-Eastern, or American styled. Mediterranean towns and French-style apartments sure look nice, but are there any breaks from traditional architectural styles and settings? I would like to see Mayan pyramids, Polynesian architecture, west African mosques, Thai palaces, Rajasthan Temples, indigenous structures, etc. I know there have been a handful of SC4 cities in exotic locations but it upsets me when baroque palaces and clay tile houses dominate the image. So without further adieu... does anyone have any non-European/colonial SC4 screens or city journals.

I think there were a few people on here doing Middle Eastern-styled CJs. A lot of people do Euro-American styled cities because there is simply more content available for them, versus exotic locales that have been hardly explored in terms of BAT development. Not to mention that the majority of players here hail from the Western world.

Where's all the Australian stuff? The gaming buildings? The Hakurei Shrine?

You see that most buildings resemble Euro-style and North-American style, because most of the BATters come out of Europe or the USA. Some cities are pretty popular when it comes to BATting, like New York City, Paris, Hong Kong, and in lesser extent, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Berlin, Hamburg, Warsaw, Madrid, Chicago, Toronto and generic Japanese city buildings.

On foreign websites, you can get quite some Japanese (and in lesser extent Chinese) buildings.

Other parts of the world are less covered, simply because there are less BATters from those areas. And since most BATters model mostly things they are familiar with, it's not that likely that they do something completely different, let alone shift scope completely! You even see within the NAM Team that bridges models are related to things that are close to home to the creators of them (though, they should resemble more generic bridge designs)

Oh, and Wiimeister, there are also some Aussie skyscrapers available at the STEX by reddonquixote ;)

Best,

Maarten

There are some good Thai temples/palaces etc on the Stex that I have downloaded by Jinnivan to add to my cities maybee you should try those to add variety? Also I have a lot from the HK/Asia Bat team Im always trying to find asian stuff for my city Karumoto. As for mayan stuff I too have tried to find a few temples etc but have never found anything.

Some of the CJ's here are amazing, some of the stuff they have I have no idea where to find and it makes me jealous because I want a asian style city so bad... Even on the Japanese site Simcityfoce I can't find as much as I would like. The biggest thing I would like to find is a maxis house replacer with asian style houses, there is one I found on Simcityforce but I didn't really like it... also only works for me sometimes not sure why.
