You can either:

1) try to memorize the city name, or use ALT+TAB to switch screens.

2) if you can't memorize it, use a shorter city name.

3) play in windowed mode. There are tutorials about how to do this on this website (try to search them if you want to). I use this to play SC4 while chatting in the ST Chatbox.

First, you can enter windowed mode by simply checking the option in the controls of the game.

Now, if you can get the name you want onto your clip-board (CTRL+C) you can dump it in as the city name by using the whererufrom "cheat".

Press CTRL+Xwhererufrom "CTRL+V"CTRL+M

Note the space after the cheat code and the quotes are necessary as well. (Actually you only need the quotes if the name has spaces in it, but they do no harm.)

One possibility is use the sign tool to type the name out. Highlight the text in the sign tool and press 'Control C'. This will put the text in the clip board. Press the 'Windows' key to get to the other application and paste it in with 'Control V'. I copied the below name of a road in my city with the described method.

There is no option in the controls of the game for windowed mode... there is only options to set resolution.

Oh, yes you can play windowed mode. I do this all the time. I can't recall an in-game option to switch between modes, but what I do know is that it's possible by modifying the shortcut link. You can check for more info and how to do it here: http://sc4devotion.c...hp?topic=3683.0

Please, don't call someone a liar when he's simply making a mistake. Making mistakes is human (and considering Nonny's age, it's not that surprising he can forget a detail or two ever once in a while). Heck, even I make mistakes by assuming somebody is familiar with certain actions, procedures or content.

And please stop using All Caps and so many exclamation marks. We've pointed this to you a number of times. It's very annoying and it isn't effective to get your message. We will read it anyway...

In Windowed mode you can't scroll by holding the mouse at the edge of the screen. However, you can hold the right mouse button and drag around, or you can use the arrow keys. That's how you scroll in Windowed mode (works also in Full Screen mode).

(And do I have to say it again about your overly use of exclamation marks?)

Sorry about that. I've been using command line options for so long that I hardly ever look at that panel any more. Anyway, I gather you have successfully added the -w option to your command line. Runs differently, doesn't it? A couple of warnings:

    1. Never take the focus away from the game while it is saving.

    2. Never take the focus away from the game while it is closing.

Either of these actions can have unfortunate results up to and including the loss of your city.

Oh, and save often with the internal save (CTRL+s).

^^ I've never lost a city that way, but what I do know is that it won't save a region view image if you take the focus away.

Also, CTRL+ALT+S is quick-save. This won't save an updated region view image, but therefore, it's way quicker when saving. I use it a lot.

Well, you learn something every day. CTRL+ALT+S or CTRL+ALT+s? The S vs. s implies the shift key. I didn't know that, by the way.

CTRL+S takes a snapshot of your city for your albums. CTRL+s is a save.
