Majora's Mask taught me to pay attention to the things on the bottom of the screen, so I say yes.

Well, like I said, as a Majora's Mask fan, I can't help but just look at it. But for SC4, yeah. If I wasn't such a big MM fan, I probably wouldn't

I notice the clock occasionally. I use it, and the net profit to decide when I am going to give the Sims a tax break.

It depends really. I sometimes check the clock in fixed day mode, but don't make a regular habit in doing so. To be honest, I'm usually too busy monitoring the data layers and graphs, or scoping for new areas of development.

AFAIK, there is only the Simulation clock in the lower left of the GUI. Since I run full screen, it is the only one I see.

I only check it every now and then, just to see what the traffic is like at a certain time; most of the time I'm just too busy reading charts, adding funds to buildings, building a new landmark, and target practicing with the sims and lightening bolts.

I do pay attention to the clock, for budget, loans, stats etc.

I have a region with about 10 established (started) cities. As I developed them separately, there are differences in education level, population, commercial development, etc. Now I'm trying to bring them all in line, in conjuction with each city's age as well, so I do care about the clock. Cities that are "ahead" of the others, are held back: their EQ still incerases, but I try to get no additional R population; instead it causes more commercial development (in the same city or another - where I find it more appropiate), ie more jobs, and then I get more residents in another (less developed) city.

Btw has anyone considered or attempted to make a mod that modifies the city summary view, ie the small form displayed while in region view and you click (but not double-click) on a city tile, so that it includes the city's age (date) as well? It's not hard technically (all one needs to do is find the form and add the date). The only question is if it will work, as it is unknown whether this information is available when in region view level. Anyone?

Interesting idea, but I think you'd have to access each city tile to get it. This could mean an even worse start-up time, but since the counts are accessed, maybe not.
