I put it usuall near borders, and where transit is accessible.

Usually near the CBD. No one's put a stadium right in the middle of a suburb (how do you sleep when crowds are cheering and jeering every random night?) or an industrial area (of course nobody wants an extra serving of chimney smoke on their hot dogs.

This applies to all stadia ingame.

Quite a few Football stadiums here in England are right in residential areas. I know that Upton Park (where West Ham play) is surrounded by blocks of Flats. Having said that, a lot of the Premier League clubs have quite recently rebuilt their Stadiums, and are now situated away from residential estates, and small Commercial areas have naturally developed around them.

Usually between commercial and industrial districts; generally it arrives too late in the game for me to put in my CBD, and it has too adverse an effect on residential districts to put just anywhere.

Plop it around the commercial areas is the best for me, because the stadium also increase the desirability of the nearby commercial areas too.

(stockport county as pictured)

not my club but just evidence, they are also plotted near canals or rivers in UK.

I put mine any where, but yes if you put them in commercial districts or near commercial it will give them a boost and I also make sure it has a transport system near them. afterall in the early days most footballer(soccer) stadiums where built and named after railways aswell as where they are based! :whatevs:

In major cities in the UK, where there is more than 1 football team (London, Manchester, Birmingham etc) the Club grounds tend to be in the older residential areas, as they were originally formed as community teams, and many clubs have tried to retain this aspect of their identity

Depends on the capacity/size of the stadium. For massive, professional level stadiums I put them near the CDB or right off a major highway. For some small-level or even college stadiums I might put them in residential districts.

In the US there are quite a few college stadiums that are in/near residential areas; the US Naval Academy's Navy-Marine Corps stadium abuts a residential area in Annapolis, MD for example.

Wrigley Field comes to mind when talking about Major League Ballparks in residential area's. Alot of high density residential around that one. Makes for nice rooftop seats too. lol

I tend to put them like you would like them in real life, with some kind of view looking towards the outfield for some odd reason. Whether that be buildings, water or whatever. As far as zones, I usually situate them between commercial and residential. Alot of times with a freeway running close to it, even using it as a divider of one of the zones.

Statdia are not really a problem. I usually put the smaller one near the University, and the major one is an opportunity to use an empty area to create a new commercial pod. If you have no empty area there is no question that it is a large commercial attractant.

I like to put them near commercial areas or high density residential areas, but if it comes late i'll sit it out towards the end of town with transportation by it, now for small ones i like it near residential areas with a commercial area on the other side of it

Like most here I put it in CBD. If I have a freeway/highway I like to put it near that, especially near an intersection such as a "T" or whatever.

I think the consensus is that, since it is a commercial cap buster and somewhat NIMBY on residential, commercial is where it should go. As I said, I often drop it out of town and use it as the focus for a new commercial pod, which naturally gets surrounded by residential eventually. Neat way to kick off a suburb.

I tend to put my stadiums near universities, which I generally situate it between the university and a commercial district. If I have to put a stadium near a residential area, I leave space between the stadium and the residential district and zone commercial or plop parks in between them.

Always surround mine in my Downtown core with commercial buildings seems to work well, plus it looks pretty lol.

I like to put the major league stadium near the convention center and close to the airport. I figure the noise of the airport won't affect the stadium !!!

Amen. This is a good idea if you have all the necessary stuff. Of course you can hold off until you get the conditions you want. Just close the dialogue box and you can pick it up from the rewards menu when you want it.
