Okay, I am running SimCity 4 Deluxe on Windows 7. I've successfully incorporated plugins into my game in the past (on a different computer), but this time around, I am completely bewildered as to how to get these dang files into my plugins folder, and appear in the game.

I can successfully download the file. Then, I believe it needs to be unzipped, or something? Then it needs to go into the plugins folder.

Below is a shot of what my plugins folder looks like.

I have a program installed called "Cam UnZip". It's supposed to unzip files, but I am totally confused with this program; I don't know if I'm supposed to unzip them (manually) or they just get unzipped on their own.

On Windows 7 you only need to right click on the file and choose to have it decompressed or unpacked depending on the options presented. You don't need outside software except for .rar files. For those, you need a copy of either winrar or 7zip. You should lose that other program and do a virus scan.

Okay. In that case, I think it's still not working due to a configuration with my computer. Even though it's not a problem with the game, maybe one of you guys knows how to deal with something like this... Here's what it says when I try to save a BAT directly to my plugins folder:

    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Plugins\One World Trade Center1.zip

You don't have permission to save in this location.

Contact the administrator to obtain permission.

Would you like to save in the [computer's name] folder instead?"

    p.s. I have administrator privileges

    1. Spend some time in the pinned threads at the head of the SC4 General Discussion forum.

    2. Plugins go in user space and not in the Program Files game space.
